Sooo... Clearly people are pretty emotional about this whole CCP "replacing" Dust thing, but thats not quite what they're doing.
Instead of a simple replacement for Dust, or Dust 515 - we should be looking at Legion as an attempt to rebuild and rebrand the core Dust experience.
CCP isn't trying to screw us over by taking one game away while going "oh maybe you'll like this different one instead" - they're trying to deliver on the original promises Dust made, the promises that brought most of here to begin with. And it's not like Dust is going anywhere in the meantime.
So, I propose that we sit down and relax, crack open a cold beer, and once things have calmed down a bit - we continue shooting each other in the face, and watch to see where Legion ends up going.

I think this video by Squad B sums up what you are saying: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNkFxj0G42I Haven't watched it all yet, but yeah - seems like a similar sentiment. |

- It won't have any crossover, AKA "Thanks for your time and money on this open beta, we'll now be making you start over on a completely new system."
*snip* Many of us put in hours and money for what DUST could be. Now we're finding out that DUST couldn't be anything more than a disappointing precurser to an entire other game. 1. It won't be on PS3 (and to be perfectly honest, good) but it could still easily be on PS4, - Valkyrie is doing it and their team is only 25 strong
2. Not even remotely - while there won't be a 1:1 transfer between Dust and Legion, seeing as the relevant systems in Legion are both completely different and still in flux - there will be something
And finally, lets be honest here. Deep down we already knew that Dust would never be able to work on the PS3 - it might hurt to admit, but it's true (also, turn back the forums 24h - not so precious about either the PS3 or the game back then , were we?) |

A fInal thought before I go off to bed, by "watch where Legion ends up going" I did not mean "Legion is teh amazeballs, we should burn our PS3s and embrace teh #pcmasterrace"
I literally meant watch to see where CCP goes with it. Things like how they handle the crossover, a potential future PS4 version, that bloody progression crap they showed earlier will make or break the game - and as Legion is now the 'chosen one' we should watch how it progresses and give honest, constructive feedback where appropriate. |

but they're making those exact same promises that remain unfulfilled right now. dust is NOT what it should be right now. tell us again about a player driven market. tell us again about interaction with eve online. That's why they're making Legion - Dust is too far gone and the PS3 (and Sony) too restrictive, |
