So it appears my post was deleted even though it was constructed respectfully, coherently, and did not go against any of the forum rules. Way to be. It was not a rant of any sort either, but brought up several valid points I suppose you could not refute so deletion was easier.
So be it.
Basically, to reiterate, I am embarrassed for recommending this game to friends. I am embarrassed that I bought extra copies of BPO suits that I will never be able to "sell" on the "marketplace" as you stop developing for this game. (Yes I know what they said, but the way they said it and the actions they have taken speak more truthfully than the PR jargon loaded response that we received).
Name one thing that moving to the PC platform fixes specifically, that is still a problem with our current PS3 iteration? Does anyone really think more computational resources will fix the issues we have with our current iteration of the product?
What has been changed to prevent Legion from failing in much the same manner? The only thing I can think of is that you now have a running start.
But the absolutely worst thing you did was to be working on this project, knowingly, for months, while promoting a game you would no longer be supporting. I even think you knew the fallout would be quite large, which is why Legion will stay on PC and will not port, so that you can take advantage of the goodwill gotten by your only successful enterprise, EVE.
Doesn't really matter though. I am pissed my post was deleted as I cannot remember half of it but in the end, I'm over it and will not be supporting CCP's future endeavors.
the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result. Same devs, same company, same game
The way this was botched, down from the vision to the execution, to the PR; is in no way the playerbase fault, yet they are the ones paying the price for CCP's over-ambition and poor management. IMO, CCP fully deserves to fail. As to succeed after failing in almost every aspect would defy logic and be a failure of a free market. Keep this in mind while you continue to support them.
CCP's failures: Vision - over-ambitious Communication - in soo many ways but to generalize; no communication as to the direction of the game or the vision changing Execution - In almost every aspect. Slow to update, slow to add features, even slow to add things you already knew you would be adding SOON. Ending beta obviously not ready and unable to admit you were not ready. Planning - no buffer's for when something could not be completed. No logical progression map or timeline Coordination - Whose working on what? How does this fit into the big picture. What is the end result even supposed to be. Alas now we will never know, but I don't think they ever knew either. Feedback - No acknowledgement whatsoever of the above failures, or how you learned from these failures, or what you will do different with Legion to prevent the same failures occurring again. Leadership - None obviously, as with good leadership the above failures would never have been allowed to occur. A good leader must be able to see the big picture and act accordingly. Must be able to see the obstacles on the horizon and prepare the team.
The only thing done well? You had a good idea. *Golf clap*
