After a throughout search I found a report by Nvidia, who predicts that PC game sales will surpass console sales. The report, which is so flawed it should melt your brain predicts $23m is sales for PC and $22m for console in 2014-2015.
Now, this seems promising for EVE:Legion. But here is why Nvidia, who is a PC company, screwed the stats to favor themselves in the PC vs console battle. For one, they include games such as FarmVille and other FaceBook purchases, secondly they include online purchases which they state have a $11.6 to $8b advantage in sales. So by including Facebook downloads and in-game purchases it undermines what truely is PC vs Console battle is about. Secondly, the sales figures are based on online downloads, which the PS and Xbox both offer. So here is a direct comparison:
"As of right now I think we can real-¡is-¡ti-¡cally assume that that around 65% GÇö 75% of PC game sales are made online. Let us look at a cou-¡ple of recent releases such as Bat-¡tle-¡field 3 with the fol-¡low-¡ing sales num-¡bers from VGchartz:

PlaySta-¡tion 3: 1.5 mil-¡lion
PC: 500,000"
And
"Let us also take a look at Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which saw the largest con-¡cur-¡rent num-¡ber of play-¡ers ever at one time on steam at over 300,000 which for a sin-¡gle player game is staggering:
Xbox 360: 1,997.215
PS3: 969,454
PC: 555,554"
We see by true comparison (real games) that console dominate. The online purchases of these game make PC "online purchases" actually superior because the % of xbox and ps downloads of games is somewhere between 60-70%. This has no indication to where players are in fact pkaying, the stats are showed simply where games are being sold from. Therefore, Nvidia's and seemingly the rest of PC manufacturers and their sponsors, are using theses stats to say that PC will surpass console sales and console purchases. This is untrue, I copy pasted the stats which show PC did not compete with consoles. There also the time playing, PC players are more hardcore (8 hours) than console (1.5-8)
Additionally funny, 44% of all PC games are cartage prized under:
"PC games are cheaper than console games, and apparently 44% of all online games played are puzzle/board/game show/trivia/card games. 21% are GÇ£actionGÇ¥ games (sports, racing, RPG, FPS), and 16% are persistent-world (MMO) games." WHAT A JOKE.
I'm not sure in this case if I am reading this right, but the stats say the average age of a PC gamer is 37 years old. That can't possibly be true....
PC also had PC only releases that are significant like Starcraft and WoW - which add a lot to its numbers. By judging by the numbers if we see which games were best selling it seems NCAA Football was only outsold by top ranked Starcraft by 5%!!! 5% for a unique! highly prized games in Starcraft vs NCAA football which is released every damn year and is hardly a standout game. So top game vs a yearly release, PC sure kicks ass LMAO
Look,the processing power and the resolution etc are double what the console can offer but that doesn't mean the system is a better option. It shows the consoles are the way to go and PS4 release would be the best way to carry over current Dust 514 players to EVE:Legion and not going to PC.
Money Issue:
Now, I've read some things that PC games produce up to 4 times the profit as console games.. Which sounds like a lot, and let's face it while the price for PS4 and Xbox One are $600 right now, the price of a good PC screen/gaming qualify stuff is double that price. A top tier monitor is expensive, top tier mouse are $99-200, graphics cards costs nearly as much as a console themselves. I would like to mention a Nvidia card can cost up to $1100 yea double the price for the top of a line card.

That's the point, who the hell cares about the type of games you can play on iPads. If we want to have a discussion about PC vs Console we need to talk about the real games. We can't take puzzle games and FarmVille and zombie land or whatever into account. We need to analyze the same things, on equal footings. Grab CoD, BF, elder scrolls, dark souls 2.. The actual games and. It the fluff. |

The actual games and. It the fluff. I think you misunderstand. When companies make games, they do so for money. They don't care what you think is worthy, or cool, only what you pay for. Then, they follow the money. thus PC and mobile/tablets will, inevitably, squeeze the console gaming market from both sides - as we're already seeing.
We are talking about EVE:Legion and its decision to be PC instead of PS4, and why the choice was incorrect based on statistics and gaming trends. We cannot compare cupcake puzzle games and FarmVille Facebook type games when we say PC is going to surpass consoles and therefore it's the more logical choice to where Legion decided to go, i wish wanting to point out a few stats about flawed logic seen in forums and in youtube channels about how glad they are because PC is better option and is more popular. |

Yea, PC is a more logical choice. They have a strong base there. But console gamers aren't going to follow, PC guys will go back to PC but CCP just wants to make money off the older crew of guys who play PC. |
