I understand that CCP wants to reach the PC market. Makes sense. And that the PS3 won't support a 10-year development path.
But what makes me feel furious, scammed and violated is that CCP just launched 2 events in quick succession, selling expensive Omega boosters so mercs can get 3.000.000 SP over a weekend. Which means absolutely nothing when the game dies, except that CCP could make a bundle overnight. The must have known it so soon in advance. I don't blame them for not telling, but for shamelessly exploiting our trust.
Dusters stayed with the game because they had hope. They supported CCP's story of a long-term game, with genuine investment of time and/or money. We built a community, corpses, and provided uncountable hours of valuable input. All for naught, it seems.
I won't be supporting this game or any other game from CCP anymore. My fellow Dusters, all the best! |

There should be a warning in the store:
"This game has been abandoned and will probably be flushed within 6 months. Try before you buy." |

They didn't sell you hope. They failed completely at making the game for two years and you still bought boosters. The game is going to continue for some time now, but the fact that you stayed with the game because of your "hope" is entirely on your shoulders.
I never spent a cent, because the game didn't have anything worth spending on right now. And it never will. You were sold a bun with the hint that it might turn into a hamburger later. But the bun has been a bun for two years. I hate to be callous, but the fact is you never were forced to buy anything. The decision was yours. Nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to buy it.
The only difference between you and me is that I weighed my options and decided to wait, and now I'm extremely glad I didn't.
So, fanbois.... where did all the "potential" go...?

CCP gave us a grand vision and promised a 5 to 10 year development plan. They roared about Uprising 1.8 and new content, and sent out newsletters so we would buy more boosters - while they already made the decision that the PS3 would no longer be supported. That's misleading at best.

Just read another thread that one guy had bought 53 30-day boosters. I feel bad for him - and the Dust-fans at FanFest... |

And this is why I'm glad that I held the strength to not purchase any boosters or Aurum on sale since I started playing.
And this is why I'm upset that I actually bought my way into the closed beta for $20.

That doesn't refute a single point of mine.
Even after Uprising 1.0, even after BPO removals, even after all the stupid stuff they've done, even after its been two years and they haven't delivered on their vision at all.... you still went and bought based on their promises.
Yeah, CCP is a bunch of lying scumbags and they didn't deliver any of their promises.... Which is exactly why you should have never bought anything.
You were duped, but you let yourself be duped.
Dust has sucked, and will suck, and now we know it will never get better. It wasn't like you couldn't see that given their past track record...
So, fanbois.... where did all the "potential" go...?

CCP had a good track record on delivering on their promises and maintaining and expanding a game over a very long time. That's why many people believed their promises. You can't blame them, CCP has earned and then abused their trust. |
