well, after a sloppy group of panels on the future of where im going to be placing my time and money in, i cant say im flipping tables like the rest, but very concerned.
first off, dust for consoles and the future dust for PC- I can see these two games running parallel to one another if done right. all console players can understand the limitations of 7+yr old consoles so the need to evolve the game to expectations is a given. dust 514 (Ps3) needs to have its MMO stripped from its title and just considered a lobby shooter. this on its own can survive with regular updates and new content.
Dust Legion: This can be what the console sibling cant do, ie: PvE, looting, industry, PC district modification, etc etc, its version of public lobbies needs to be its own thing, separate from its console version, with its own stats, inventory, etc, etc. those of us with established characters need to have the ability to freely transfer character from console version to PC at will (character SP, Corp, Corp roles, etc)
things that Legion needs in order to actually not kill off both games: -Customizable districts (the RTS aspect to PC)- upgrade defenses/offenses (changes reflected on PS3), -Specific sectors of those districts only accessible on legion, buffers territorial battles on the district as a whole. -Warbarge Battle commander: both for PC and Pub matches, role has its own comms channel heard by everyone, deployable orders for individual squads, perks and whatnot. -industry: not just loot but full industry needs to be made fully transferable to armory on PS3 with possible resources or materials only found from PS3 version. -Attacks on EVE: the Ion cannons for anti-Orbital support, possible attacks on corp owned bases, etc
Dust 514(PS3): -PC needs reworking, new systems opened up. -new maps, weapons, etc -introduce a randomized blueprint loot system for Legion industry -perks for character activity on both Legion and PS3 -new game modes
i hope both versions can have a symbiotic relationship for the games future. |

CCP has no idea what they are doing , kick people from forums we will still be heard. Your company won't last long doing this. Your audience for Legion is Dust players, correct. Will we not support any of your future games? Correct do this and you will be out of jobs aur plus eve is enough to fund you. But not just eve, we are pissed and will be acknowledged. Kick me for post this

Only way to resolve this is to come right out and state they will allow people to reserve their DUST names in Legion, have some form of assurance all their money towards SP in a broken system wasnt wasted, and that they will get to keep unique suits (such as THE FREAKING TEMPLAR SETS PEOPLE SPENT A HUNDRED-FIFTY ON)
Sure, they can say "were not closing DUST down, you arent losing anything so its not our problem" the PROBLEM is, DUST is now no longer DUST, if we want to play the DUST we've signed up and invested money for, we have to go play and start new in a separate game, DUST itself has turned into one huge bait and switch smack in the face, and it WILL NOT last, as the few dedicated players making it even seem active WILL QUIT the second meaning is removed from the game. |
