...is the fact that the Dust Keynote for Fanfest 2014 was exceedingly short. No new info about Dust on the PS3 so far, just a live demo of a PC version, and nothing more.
The audience wasn't even given an idea on what or when to expect for changes to the PS3 version. As a result, people are (without evidence) jumping to conclusions that Dust on the PS3 is dead or something like that. Honestly CCP still had a good 20 minutes left on the clock to address those points but missed out on it. If they had done just that, we wouldn't be having this crap storm on the forums right now.
But let's not forget that there is still one more Dust Keynote to come although I think that supposedly covers the graphics portion of Dust.

RIP Dust - biggest waste of time.
Evidence please or shut the frakk up. They never said in the keynote or on any Dev Blog that they did nothing for the PS3 version.

The staff that was working on the Legion project was extremely small. There were like what 6 people working on it? Compared to how many still working on the PS3 version?

I think you missed the dev blog which is saying they are splitting the team to continue the support for dust but focus on EVE Legion to make the game they really wanted. the basically said dust is dead. have fun with dust updates every 6 months.
I didn't miss the blog. It still left a ton of question unanswered that they should've addressed in the last 20 minutes of the 1 hour they had for presenting.

Maybe for the PC, but they didn't show anything about Dust on the PS3. Not even a screenshot of what they did for the PS3 version.

They didn't say that they didn't do anything for Dust 514 on the PS3.

OK, now they're doing the regular talk between keynotes. I'm surprised one of the devs mentioned that they don't have a procedure in place for the character stats transfer. Doesn't CCP have our stats on their server?

That is a very good question which why I think they missed their chance to address it in the final 20 minutes of the 1 hour keynote they had. The first keynote just ended in 40 minutes with nothing more than a live demo. This is confusing.

/dons the tinfoil hat
I'm theorycrafting that maybe this is all just a major distraction setup by CCP and that on the last Dust keynote they will reveal that Dust on the PS3 has been completely overhauled and finally finished with PvE, Economy, MMO aspect and all that jazz.
But then a part of me screamed at me saying "NO! YOU MUST KEEP YOUR EXPECTATIONS AS UNREALISTICALLY LOW AS POSSIBLE!"

This lack of purpose and direction on their part is going to eat them alive and they deserve this kind of feedback. This skirting completely over the issue, avoiding all questions and keeping to their mystery sandbox shows they have no idea the direction they expected this to go and if that was the case, you shouldn't have brought it to fanfest unprepared. Now you just look unorganized and distrustful.
I agree this is really disorganized for a Dust presentation.
So far, Eve Online and Eve Valkyrie have gotten a lot of attention while there is no mention of Dust on the PS3 and what the progress will be.
