It is early, I have a hangover, and I only overheard the Valkyrie keynote but I believe the first Valkyrie was Caldari.
First Capsuleers were Caldari.
First Immortal test subject was Caldari (if I remember correctly, Vince or something)
First Valkyrie was Caldari.

It amuses me that none of these things were actually achieved by the Caldari state but were actually the accomplishments of other empires.
First capsuleer? Jovian technology.
First dust merc? Sleeper technology reverse engineered by the Amarr.
First Valkyrie? Guristas technology, one of the State's most hated enemies.
To be fair, though, the Caldari have always been freeloaders. Hell, the reason they're in space is because they had the technology given to them by the Federation.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

He was ethnically Caldari, true, but he might as well be Amarr at this point.
(It was never adequately explained to me why Vince was the first Templar anyway, and not one of those Paladins they recruited... bad writing, I guess, or maybe I missed something)

I know he was in prison. I think it was like a "better that prison dude than our soldiers."
I wasn't going with the "Caldari are better than everyone" (even though they are) just a little irony with how things have worked out. Caldari have been the poster-boys of EVE for a while. Just something I think is humorous.
