You are not alone!
Most of us have already invested 100's/1000's/ of hours into the game. Terminating your clone is like "cutting off a limb". As the good book says, if a part of you is doing harm, you cut it off. (Lol something like that).
I have pretty much lost all hope...... two years already past. When is enough really enough? All the players/devs that have come and gone.
With EVERY patch the game gets worse not better. More and more glitches/exploits. PC, lol don't even want to get started. Cloaks....RE... Who's idea was that? Tanks... The game took a turn for the worse.
I have come to the conclussion, that something very bad is coming. Something that should have been done long ago! I wont even say it for fear of (O O) "the one that shall remain nameless". I have been hoarding isk and running basic for the past year. I would rather use it all then lose it. Nothing but the best for my merc from now on. Maybe ill actually start making some real money killing 50+ every match. Once all my isk/officer weapons are gone....... Nothing left to lose. |

It's always useful to remember that in the end all of this is worth exactly the same amount as when we first started out: nothing. The great conceit of Rpg-like games is that you need to invest time into them to get "the most" out of the experience, but really it's all about having fun at any given moment and that's the end of it. I could walk away from this tomorrow and biomass my toon if I felt like it, but I'm still holding out hope that the game will deliver the fun consistently and with a minimum of aggravating bullshit ;)

If you feel "trapped" then you should be playing some other games to get free. No offense, but the majority (including myself) often play Dust hardcore and don't play much else. So of course the fire burns out every once in a while.
So try balancing your time with other games or just log in for a day to get that SP and don't play Dust. Take a bit of a break.
There's much to do in New Eden. Hell, if DNS owning PC is not a project waiting to happen to bide our time I don't know what is. That's a nice piece of pie that I"m pretty sure everybody wants. How about focusing on coordinating to do that?

I don't have feelings as I am a soulless bastard of a tanker whose only purpose and goal is to ruin you day. As such my "feelings" as you humans call them are only phantoms of some long forgotten trauma I suffered that has lead me to this horrific final conclusive evolution of pure "douchiness".
But more seriously yeah I sometimes do...... not many other good games out there that appeal to me......but Dust isn't complete or expansive enough to keep playing....thus I am trapped.

I already do.....DKS II is a shadow of the former two titles.
Without Miyazaki the series lost its Soul and copped out to appeal to a wider fan base of whining casual and players who have to have content spoon fed to them.
Online invasions are discourages, Co-oping and easy mode is hyper encouraged, and of course you have all meaningful content only accessible in NG+ with PvP being even more toxic than Dust 514's own......
Yet for all of that the satisfaction I get from the hate mail of some **** poor Souls player trying to pass off OHKO spell casts, full fast rolling Havel's armour, or Mundane dual Avelyn builds is heart warming,

I just barely play anymore. Simple as that.
If the game improves, I will make more content, advertise to more people, draw new players in, help them grow and thrive, I will play more, I will write more.
For now, it's just not worth it. There are plenty of other games worth playing that have a better track record than DUST, or that, at the very least, deserve the same level of optimism and energy that I once held for DUST.
This DUST Keynote is really pivotal for a number of us, so, we'll just have to see what happens in the hours to come.

Arkena actually still posts for whatever God forsaken reason, so it's understandable. I also question some of those likes cuz one day he was at like 5k, then next was near 10k lol. But, such is DUST forum likes, impossible to track, and the moment you go over 9000, you both transcend mortality, and the ability to have your actions judged truthfully.

Thats why I stopped. It hurt to biomass/cut off a limb, but it hurt more to keep playing and hoping it would get better. All in all, it HAS to get worse before it could get any better. Crossing all fingers and toes and limbs for the future. Before I biomassed, the only thing that kept me playing and what I miss most about the game is playing together with my corporation. I miss them so much! |

I do not wanna choose sides. If you wanna declare your activity then by all means my message is that my legacy goes to the strongest. Are you strong or weak? I wanna see some activity on this game.
Some people may think that I quit bcuz this game sucked or whatever reason but the truth is that I love this game. It is great and it has potential. The reasons of my leaving is private and out of my control. I won't be coming back. I have real life matters to attend to. I hope my friends can understand that and that the trolls give you all an equally hard time as they gave me ;)
in the next couple weeks I will lose my internet access and I will not be coming back. This is for good. I <3 my friends who tried to defend me but it was not necessary. I love you all. Thank you for making me happy and bringing joy into my life. You all are the best and you all are the future of dust if there is any. Players like you make this game succeed, **** it if your underestimated. GJR thinks your great and you are officially approved. If a scrub does not understand then they are scrubs for a reason. forget them and remember my legacy, eat tacos and be op. Do your best and have fun. |

Just take a break. It's a been a while already since I last logged in. This actually helps you cope with the slow development time of the game. And besides, there's Fanfest going on right now so you now have a reason besides bad game mechanics to stay away from Dust for a few days. Go to Twitch.TV and look for CCP's profile to watch the live stream which continues tomorrow.
