Currently a dropsuit can equip a HMG or an assault rifle (if they want a rifle) with no middle ground. Here's what I am envisioning:

Light weapon, fulfilling a suppressive role with relatively low damage, high RoF, and a ~150 round clip size.

I could see this being difficult to balance but I really wish we had more to choose from than just HMG's or rifles. And I like the idea of my Minmatar Commando with a LMG and MD...the suppressive/denial potential makes me drool...

Thoughts?

EDIT: I'd really like to restrict it to medium and heavy frames...say that the weapon is too bulky for a light frame to carry it or some such thing. I envision it with more range than the HMG, lower RoF, and lower damage. I personally would like it to be Minmatar, but that's because I like Minmatar tech. If it is Amarr or Caldari I won't use it for RP reasons -- though that is not to say there shouldn't be a variant for the different races, I think there should be. The HMG would likely have to be looked at, I agree...but then the ACR and ARR both need looked at currently as well, so...why not?
