Terrible idea is terrible, can not be reasonably balanced without becoming a worthless SP sink that everyone "needs" just to have that tiny little edge. Bad bad bad bad. Give light frames a second ground suit, and work on making vehicles actually fun, engaging, and possessing a feeling of growth as you skill into them. Though ill note im not opposed to the idea of a pilot suit specialization giving small bonuses, the problem is all vehicles are hideously unbalanced at the moment. maybe a pilot suit can be introduced in a decade. anyone suggesting one now is someone we should all point and laugh at. As someone who hopes to build my character to be seen as a pilot, going so far as to even give my character a name that says so much, I also want pilot suits very badly. Though the reason is not because of the stats, I couldn't care less about getting more bonuses to my vehicles. The reason is to simply extend that whole notion of being seen as a pilot, whether deployed, in the merc quarters, in the warbarge, or in other future community spaces. So yeah, I'd be fine with simply vanity light frame "pilot" skins that are nothing more than skins, but yes having this all purchasable with ISK is also important. Even if it involves something like going through the player market to get it, having everything in the game purchasable with ISK in some way or another is critical. Amarr are the good guys.

DUST's fighters will be unique to DUST and operate exclusively in atmo. /speculation EDIT: Side thought, if DUST manufacturing ever takes place in EVE (which doesn't necessarily exclude DUST manufacturing also taking place in DUST), it should never involve tritanium for that reason. But tritanium is the most basic mineral in all of EVE manufacturing. I wonder if the lore would be ret'conned (after the 'definitive' EVE Source was released, this option would be a bummer), ignored, or if CCP will use some mineral other than tritanium as the foundation for DUST manufacturing and how that would effect the New Eden economy.
