What did we learn (about DUST514)?
Well, not much but thats to be expected. The DUST goodies are being held back for tomorrow (1pm GMT). And from Hilmar Veigar's mouth, there's a lot of things to come from it.
BUT, we did find out about EvE: Valkyrie, and i have to say it looks fantastic. They've hired possibly the best man for the job, the guy who produced Mirrors Edge, probably the closest you'll get to a mainstream VR game. We also found out that the main character is going to be voiced by Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica fans MAY know of her). And you'll be hearing her voice inside your head throughout the game.
We also found out that Valkyrie will be moving over to the Unreal 4 engine before it gets released. Meaning a gigantic boost visually.
What we can't take from it is that the move to Unreal 4 means DUST will be moving to PS4 on a new engine. DUST has already been released as a game and has many features that are needed to be added before it can be considered viable to move. Valkyrie on the other hand is not a released game. it has no hard release window, it is still in development. However it's a hell of a lot more likely to move in the future. (for which I am excited for!)
What we can take from this is that EvE: Valkyrie looks very very nice. It's got the exclusives of both Oculus Rift and Sonys VR, it took away handfuls of rewards at the last E3 and it already has a following outside of EvE and DUST. It's a good move for CCP and that only means a good move for DUST.

EVE-VR was going to be released THIS (2014) year. So it has changed then? DUST lesson learned?

Hey thanks for this. I've been M.I.A. today, so this is the first I've heard about anything concerning FF that includes actual news.
+1 for the Owen O' Brian grab (Mirror's Edge is still a favorite game of mines today)

I'm impressed that ccp was able to pick up O'Brian (Mirrors Edge is epic good). Having starbuck saying sweet things to me is a close second.
Big announcement tomorrow? DUST ON PC. Book it

I just hope Valkyrie stays as a pure Arcade experience. Throw out SP, isk, all that stuff. When I am flying around blapping people with missiles and laughing with glee as I run over the corpsicle of a Gallente pilot I don't want to think "boy, I am going to have to buy another fitting or train into x, y, or z." I want to think "I WANNA RUN OVER ANOTHER GALLENTE!"
