There's very little room for troop transport in this game that free LAVs don't do better. A good pilot can provide troop transport when needed, certainly, but their main roles are infantry and vehicle suppression, overwatch, and forcing AV.

I usually use it at the start of a match, keep going until I get shot down, and then switch to one with more HP.
I refuse to fit side guns anymore. I hate the change to their PG/CPU. Losing that survivability on a 500k ship just isn't something I'm going to do unless someone else is footing the bill. Losing the seats for not fitting turrets in dropships just goes to show that CCP doesn't really want dropships to be troop transport, and these fairly tiny maps also indicate that fact.
Troop transport is a bi product of Dropships, not a primary focus.

To the above post, it sounds like you were attempting to attack a triple rep Madrugar. Proto Missiles on an Incubus won't even tickle that fit, and there are no active modules to watch for except the NOS.
It's basically THE ***** fit right now lol

Oh well if it was a shield tank than either it was, in fact, bugged, or you were shooting at a triple hardener Gunloggi, and for some reason the effect wasn't rendering (shocking, I know). Without a hardener I cut through Gunloggi's just fine with my XT-1's
