We all play DUST, many of us love the universe it's set in, many of us want a meaningful connection with EVE, we want to be able to affect EVE players and we want them to affect us (totes want to bomb their ships out). We're told this meaningful connection will happen eventually, but how can we have a connection with a game that we don't even share a forum with.

A lot of players I've met ingame I've actually met here first, through discussion and lulz I've decided it be nice to hear their voice or the other way around, and it's quite nice, however we don't get that opportunity to talk with EVE players, we don't get to see all their discussions and they don't get to see all our discussions on the same forum, if there is truly meant to be a connection between EVE, DUST and any other future games CCP want to release centered in New Eden, then surely the most intelligent move would be combining the forums, allowing both Capsuleers and Mercenaries to interact, to take part in the boards dedicated to Faction and Corporation discussions, and to allow us mercs to get involved with a larger community of players..

 Just a thought..

It's been bugging me for a while too. The EVE forums even have a section for them to talk about DUST but I, a DUST player, can't join their discussion without an EVE account. We need a forum for EVE and Dust (and eventually Valkyrie) players to intermingle.

Yep, a forum merge would be a good thing. Dust mercs should also get access to Eve Gate which would, amongst other things, give us a way to send in-game mail from a PC.

I'd imagine its somewhere on CCP's product backlog.

 I concur.
However, we need the meaningful connection to come first.

Otherwise we're just going to have 1000 EVE bittervets who have complete disdain for FPS games and consoles shitting on our every word. First, we need to be made genuinely useful to them. No one cares about the FW effects.

The forums are separate because CCP would have to open their forums up to Sony, which means they would open Eve account information to Sony access, and CCP refuses to do that (at least that is what was explained to us in the beta).

Not merging the forums. Just having a forum where players from all EVE universe games can interact. We still need our separate forums.

Maybe but sony must have something against it, being that to log into the forums we have to use our PSN.

It's been discussed before but CCP (I want to say RaRaRa?) said it would be highly difficult to merge the forums.

Allowing Dust users to log into a special shared Dust area of the Eve forums would be good though, as long as Dust players would only be able to post in that specific area.

I understand the difficulties, actually thats a lie, I wouldn't understand how difficult that would be in terms of merging the forums, but it'd be possible right?

Kinda defeats the whole purpose of merging if we're only able to post in a certain section, EVE players and DUST players should be able to communicate, it shouldn't be us v them, which is how it seems, but a proper community.

Nah. I finally met a few Pod Peeps and only a few of them have been worth knowing. The rest want to bomb us regardless of our location or affiliation. Just for Lulz. Or Gank us directly. Or steal our ISK or our corporations ISK. Pretty much their focus is Ganking us. So - nah.

I really don't like EVE, its Pod Peeps, the company nor its corporate philosophy of Hose The F*ing Users.

Dust is fine because I get to hang out with my friends and blow stuff up while we BS on voice chat. Sort of like poker where everybody loses.

Both Eve and Dust forums already have enough trolls - can you imagine the carnage that would be wrought (especially FREE dust accounts going haywire on the Eve forums) if either side had total access to the other's forum? No thanks.

I've had only good experiences with capsuleers - been to a few meets, local and slightly larger and everyone's been super nice. And more importantly they have almost unanimously wanted Dust to play a greater part in Eve. The whole idea of sending a saboteur team into an enemy titan got everyone very excited - after all it's that kind of stuff that got Dust514 started as a concept in the first place.

More interaction would be good but CCP needs to put it in the game first. Until we can do something of serious value to eve players then they won't care and just nuke us.

Yeah, there should be The New Eden Forums and then there should be two separate sub-forums for both Eve, Dust, and the upcoming Valkarie just in case players want to only discuss about those games.
