Why don't you split off into two roughly even alliances and fight it out, RvB style? Why is the competitive core of Dust content to simply rest on their collective laurels? Where is the spirit of competition, the constant drive for improvement in the face of a truly dangerous foe?

This would actually be pretty cool to see, though I suspect that meanwhile, the true threat would be rising up in the shadows, a new alliance, a new foe... One who would rule them all and take PC by storm while DNS was occupied. It'd be interesting though! Get some narrated battles on youtube and such, have some fun and just screw around.

Well, have you seen the first episode of RvB? You remember when Simmons asks Grif this question "Hey, you ever wonder why we're here? I mean here, in Blood Gulch. Because the only reason I see that we built a red base over here, is because they built a blue base over there." Molden Heath is Blood Gulch, or as Killar put it "the Detroit/Harlem of New Eden".
The lone monk who traverses the treacherous worlds of New Eden in search of panty dropper songs.

I didn't mean RvB the show, which I've never seen, I meant the EVE alliances Red Federation and Blue Republic, who are locked in constant war for fun. Their battles account for around 10% of the total PVP activity in the entire game-world of EVE, concentrated to a mere 4 systems.

Shut up, Grif! Now go get yourself killed in a way that is amusing to me! Perhaps by using your body as a target for a forge gunner, or a tank... or a forge gunner riding a tank!

this would be an awesome thing for them to do... if they became the dust RvB I would join them....
but usually it takes awesome people to do awesome things, and I don't think there is anyone like that in their alliance....
this game makes me sad....

Wouldn't it be more interesting if they fought each other instead of just standing there talking and looking down a rifle scope without shooting?

For those posting with ****** sources of info, let me lay it down for you.
DNS is the product of many vets that were at war (and many still hate eachother) that didn't want to play anymore but still get passive isk for when this game gets better. So we put wars on hold so most of us can take a break from fighting wars for nearly a year straight.
So, DNS dust side is essentially split into two factions (possibly more):
Negative--Feedback
ERA
TRE
TP
OSG
FA
RND
HLP
Renegade Alliance
AE
NS
DDB
CAP
DIE
GAM
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/Dirt_Nap_Squad./corporations
These two factions despite what others may claim and all efforts to close the gap, are fractured down the middle and are waiting for the slightest indication either side to break off. Alot of bad blood and there is a HUGE portion of DNS that wants to see the two go head to head very soon, only none of them are in charge.
I have an ego?! O.O
The scales have fallen from my eyes.

basicly, dns is a couple who hates each other but stays together because the sex is good....but instead of sex its isk.... which if this game doesn't get better is worthless.... and the chances of it getting better are slim because ccp.... and because you all cant stop f*cking each other long enough to do something cool and innovative to make up for ccp's impotence...because you all have come to the conclusion that the only way you guys can stop coitus with yourselves is to die... and the only way to die is to do your part to ruin the game... which ccp has done a great job of on their own...because, I guess, they like watching you guys f*ck...
this game makes me sad....

I guess what it comes down to, then, is CCP. It shouldn't be possible for the competitive core to "take a break" while continuing to reap the benefits of district ownership.
