First a setting to clarify the situation. I have only played Dust514 as my Entire Multi-Player Online FPS Experience. Before the closed Beta I played LAN style a few times (nothing on a schedule) and split screen on my PS3 with my son. I finally got a mic and started finding squad mates and some have turned into friends. They are the reason I am still playing Dust.
I am not a Slayer in FPS terms. When the game hadn't been Ganked as it has been lately I had a decent ground game but nobody would pat me on the back and tell me I had a magnificent game. At least not more than a few times. I did alright as a Sniper (boring), went to Logi, added Heavy and then added Tanking now ADS to my mix. Because I had fun hanging out with my squad mates. Several of which are slayers, but one has had to take a break for months now.
Here on the Forums there is a constant stream of QQs from the many, many breeds of QQ Kittens playing Dust and whining about getting killed. Being dead is troubling no doubt but many Kittens want the game to change so that They have a OHK or a Press To Win button. And their friends of course.
What are they going to do when my Slayer friend returns? It has me wondering, trying to picture the results.
See he plays scout. When I met him he only ran a Shotty. And he was lethal. Then he switched to PRO Nova Knives. When asked about how he had his fit setup it was a PRO Minmatar Scout with a set of PRO Nova Knives. A grenade but and some obvious low modules. But he ran insane (to me) numbers and rarely died.
He will return when he finishes college. He had to take a break because he was nearly finished but had a solid year of effort ahead of him. He had spent many years getting to where he was and gaming was not going to cost him his PHD nor his future income. Cool. See ya when you get back. And I miss playing with him.
When he returns he will have a year of Passive SP ~8.75M SP. Then he will have the Suit refund. And he might well have left long enough to get the rest (I really don't recall exactly when he had to bounce). Just leave the number ~12M total.
He can come back as a cloaked Scout with either Shotty or Knives and the QQs will rain in these forums for weeks. He will be accused of cheating in all manner of ways. Why? Because he is a Slayer. He can slay using nearly any setup but will stick to what is fun for him. Which means a lot of QQ Kittens are going to get murdered and he will love killing every single one of them.
But they will QQ. Because most of the QQ Kittens on these forums really do not comprehend what a Slayer really is.
Change the game all you want. One week after returning they will be at or near the top of their game and you, dear Kitten, will be dead so fast you will never know how it happened. And all the QQs in these forums, all the hot fixes by CCP/Shanghai and all the limitations/restrictions/requirements/hacks you dream up will not do you a single bit of good.
You will die. At the hand of a true Slayer.
I am looking forward to hearing him in squad once again, "Surprise! Dead! You too, dead. Sorry, dead".
It will be like a wolf let loose in the chicken coop.

Too bad, he is spoken for. And Slayers ain't my thing.
