I started off as a CCP fanboy through and through. I always loved the concept of EVE, even played it a little here and there, though I wasn't / am not too good at it. Anyways, the concept captivates me, and that was enough to make getting my closed beta invite back in May '12 pretty amazing.
Fast forward to now.
I barely play this game. I haven't hit cap aside from a couple random times, in probably almost a year now. I sign in, get a few matches here or there, record some games if I'm feeling frisky, but generally speaking:
I'm bored.
The game is boring. It's repetitive. It lacks a feeling of growth or persistence, despite having both. Unless you personally go out and seek it, and create it both in game and in your mind, the connection to EVE is virtually non existent.
WHY has Planetary Interfacing in EVE not been talked about in relation to DUST? Or perhaps I've simply missed it since I don't follow EVE very closely anymore. That is the PERFECT opportunity for establishing an actual living, breathing connection between these games. Fanfest is really close, and I'm getting anxious because if there is no realistic, legitimate talk about PvE, I don't see myself playing too much this year. I won't quit, and I'll still probably post the odd match to youtube, but my excitement for this game has waned quite considerably.
I may just be one random sarcastic bastard who won't be missed, but you can't keep selling high and delivering low CCP. Step up your game. I eagerly and anxiously await Fan Fest, and maybe I'm being completely unrealistic, but this is just where I'm at.
A realistic, dedicated roadmap (doesn't have to be public) to make this vision that YOU presented to us, a reality, is what will make this game exciting. It is what will make this game grow to a larger audience. It will create competition. It will vastly improve the NPE, VASTLY improve it if the opportunity isn't squandered.

You don't have to get jealous just because people like me more than you. It's ok to cry. We won't judge you.
I've been here since closed beta, as mentioned in the OP. I've been a very vocal voice on the forums for better or for worse (like the latter ), but people won't stop liking my posts.
I'm sorry that to you, liking a game at one point in time indicates that forever and for always, love shall spring forth from you for that game. Fascinating. Is that Freudian?

The best FPS developers in the world still struggle with credible AI that doesn't just cheat by giving the NPC 100% perfect accuracy. If Dust PVE is anything like EVE PVE then you're going to be having not so much fun farming a line of staggering zombies that shamble in a straight line at you. Certainly true enough, but so long as the PvP side of DUST is still being tended to, then at least people who don't like how it turns out at first, can just completely ignore it. DUST needs something that actually appeals to a broader audience (PvE) and helps them enter and grow in the game before they ever have to get fed to the dogs in matchmaking. It also allows for the connection between EVE and DUST to grow, because when we get P2P market, we could say, get all sorts of cool industry loot from drones, that we trade to EVE pilots for, tier three tanks, I don't know.
