I encountered several noobs, individually, who couldn't aim at all today, so I ran around each one in my gal BPO, dodging their bullets but not returning fire. Finally they just stood there looking at me. So I walked up to them face to face and we regarded each other, blue to red. I could almost see their shoulders drop from helplessness. It was a sympathetic moment and I left each one undisturbed and went along my way.
If you see noobs, have some fun with them, but try showing some pity occasionally and leave the harmless buggers alone. They're apparently having a hard enough time as it is.

Take a person who's never played a twitch console game before, give them a dualshock and ask them to keep the crosshairs over a small, rapidly moving shape on the screen. Then push their heartrate up by making them feel, to at least some degree, like they are on a battlefield, with bullets flying around.
A lot of Dust players have a background in console FPS games, many for as far back into their childhood as they can remember.
Those players simply can't understand how difficult it can be to get shots on target in Dust.

Well, I can't tell you how many times that I've tried to befriend enemy soldiers on the battlefield just to see what they will do, but usually they are cold blooded killers and will fire upon anyone even if it is clear that the opponent is not hostile. Usually I follow up with an email stating "I was clearly not shooting you." followed by what I was trying to do. And they usually respond like "Oh, I'm sorry bro. My bad." Which is cool because it is a game about killing, but I wonder if people are on a kill kill kill mission or if they are paying attention to what is going on around them. So I perform social experiments like the one in this post, just to get to know peeps.
