Idk how many times im going to see or hear people talking about how much crap this is but i just had my first game with this and i was insta popped by a ADV Gallente medium frame....no this should not be allowed....to cloak in a medium suit or heavy suit.... Cloaks should only be allowed for scouts just like Heavy weapons are only allowed for heavies. PERIOD. |

He's wasting so many resources to wear that cloak that he probably died immediately after jumping you. Every scout in the game knew exactly where he was and was itching to drop him. It's allowed to exist. It's allowed to beat you. It's balanced because it gets utterly destroyed by around 1/5th of players in your match, and is useless against another 2/5ths. Plus if you catch him with his pants down you'd drop him instantly too. It's okay if you die. Dying is healthy in this economy.

I can fit one on my Adv min assault, but then I scroll down to my scout, check stats, scroll up an delete assault fitting.

I use a cloak on my M-I Logistics fitting strictly so that I can run around behind the enemy and drop some uplinks, maybe shotgun a couple people if they get close enough, and then run back to a supply depot and switch to my Commando.
Cloaks severely gimp any suit other than a scout and possibly a proto logi. My Logi uses R-9 Uplinks, Stable Uplinks, STD Cloak, STD SG, ADV CPU Upgrade, ADV PG Upgrade, and 1 STD Shield Extender.
Incredibly gimped fit, in other words.

It happens with ALL assault fittings, regardless of cloak.

There is no point in fitting a cloak on anything else then a scout. because the fitting cost is extremely high and every scout will still see a red chevron above his head cause his scan profile is too big to hide.

It's perfectly normal and is fair for everyone. Just remember that medium and heavy frames are sacrificing a lot in terms of competitive fittings just to fit a cloak. Scouts don't have that problem and they can see medium and heavy frames just fine even if they're cloaked.

I think if assaults and LOGI switched precision it would be better for them, never fully understood why a logistic would be lower except when it had a hacking bonus, it would make more sense for assaults to protect the LOGI but really theirs no point for assaults to even fight for a precision change because :
A: let's face it assaults aren't gonna sacrifice shield tank for something that 1 scout in your squad could do for you.
B: even if it's 40 your still gonna hardly see scouts.
I'm not feeling all mathey at the moment but most of my scout fits are under 20 db, so think about how many shield slots are you willing to lose.
