Don't get me wrong, I love using it, I've been running it exclusively for the past week. It does, however, still just suck absolutely. It does less damage at proto than a standard swarm launcher. It's really a case of "anything you can do I can do better, I can do anything better than you", from the SL to the PLC.
The one thing the PLC is good for is trolling infantry players with the OHK. Which is enough for me to use it all day long. But don't try to pretend that the PLC is well-balanced, please- it deserves a buff, and you're not helping.

You clearly didn't ask the right parts of the community- there are plenty of PLC devotees on the forum, some of them quite vocal. Roofer Madness and his PLC squad channel comes to mind. Ghazbaran is also a PLC master, check out his youtube channel at https://www.youtube.com/user/XxGhazbaranxX . Anyway, I'm glad to see another PLC user join the ranks.
If you don't care about "buff/nerf crap"... I hate you. Dust would be an infinitely better game if CCP could nail down proper balance between weapons- each weapon should have a niche in which it is clearly the best weapon, with the magnitude of this best-ness being balanced against how frequently that niche is encountered and how well it performs relatively outside of its niche.
Well-reasoned balance discussion is one of the, if the not the singular, most important use of the official Dust forums- since the developers do not have the time or inclination to play the game enough to get a really good sense of how balance stacks up, it is our role as players to provide the feedback that they so desperately need.

I did? How so?
You said the forums tried to ruin Dust for you by telling you not to use the plasma cannon. With the current state of the plasma cannon in overall weapon balance, that's really pretty good general advice, unless you take great joy in coaxing the best performance that you can out of blatantly underpowered weapons, which not many people do.
Edit: I'm glad to see that you fall into that minority and are enjoying a weapon so dear to me, but I really don't think anyone was out to ruin your Dust experience.

Naw the projectile speed and arc and reload speed are fine- I appreciate that it takes serious skill to consistently land one PLC shot after another, and that it a one-shot-at-a-time sort of deal. It just needs something to reward all that skill with something other than mediocre-to-terrible damage.
