Cyrius Li-Moody wrote:For perspective: 10k kills in 1 week = 1428.5 kills a day = 59.5 kills an hour every hour = ~1 kill a minute every minute for 7 days straight.
Is this intentionally impossible? Did anyone do the math? Did anyone check the weekly leaderboards before they set these goals? This week's highest kill count from a single player is less than 4k. I think the answer is, yes- it's intentionally impossible to ensure that everyone, regardless of excellence, will benefit from using the AUR suits. I wouldn't call it p2w, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

iliel wrote:I don't understand how people got to 10k kills. The SP side of the event involves a double weekly cap - - just like any other double or triple SP event.
As for the isk, without the pack, one needs to get 2k kills to cap 10mil isk. With origin suits, one needs about 1,350 kills.
I think confusion arises from the following questions:
1) Is the cap for the bonus 50 sp per kill part of the 500k weekly cap? 2) If the cap for the bonus 50 sp per kill is not part of the 500k weekly cap, then what is the cap for the bonus 50 sp per kill?
A clear and precise answer would be appreciated. No, you're misunderstanding. It's double the weekly cap (around 400k) in normal SP, plus another 500k in event bonus SP for infantry kills, at a rate of 50 per kill, or 100 for origin suits. 500,000 / 50 = 10,000 kills to reach the event bonus SP cap.

The last triple SP event was grindy enough with all the glaring vehicle/AV imbalances and how easy it is to farm kills safely in your indestructable tank. I'm sorry. I'll be watching Fanfest, but I will not be ground up by tanks looking for easy kills while our AV is utterly ineffective at curtailing their use. No, I don't mean SP boosting items. I mean 2-3 person teams going onto Oceania and doing the kill-revive-kill-revive cycle ad nauseum to rake in hundreds of kills per "match".

Aikuchi Tomaru wrote:After careful consideration I came to the only logical conclusion... CCP will introduce PvE against drones on April 30. That's the only way it's possible to get 10.000 kills in a week. According to this guy it means we would have to do 1 kill every minute for 7 days straight to cap out this event. Meaning it's 2 kills a minute in the case of the full 100 kill SP going towards the bonus SP cap. That's basically impossible to do in PvP. So either this event isn't intended to be even remotely capped out, or we get PvE where it would probably be possible to do 10.000 kills in a week with a little effort. I mean we all know CCP likes to make us farm and that's fine, but during the million clone challenge they also said they want to keep the eventgoals doable. And 10.000 or even 5.000 kills in a single week is definitely not doable if you still want to do silly things like sleeping, eating or working. That would be so juicy. I really, really hope that's the fanfest announcement, but I doubt it.

I think it's 5000 (+50sp or 100sp a kill) unless you use an origin suit then its about 3300 or ( +100sp or 150sp) a kill. Just don't quote me on this, as you never know with CCP Either way, it's to long a grind and shan't bother with this. It will be ok if you're a tanker otherwise just play like you normally do and be happy that you'll scratch the surface if this. Long grind is good, try impossible. 5.000 kills -> 714 kills / day -> 30 kills / hour -> 1 kill every 2 minutes. And we're talking 1 kill every 2 minutes straight through 168 hours. No downtime, no break, no eating, no sleeping, no working. It's basically impossible to cap that event. Not even a tanker is able to accomplish this. You're assuming someone uses Origin suits for the entirety of those kills. Quoting myself from a GD topic about this event:
Awry Barux wrote:Justicar Karnellia wrote:Yeah agreed, 10,000 kills is a bit too much in a week... I mean.. I think i have like 50,000 kills tops in my lifetime and that's over a year of Dust... capping almost every single week... getting a fifth of that in just a week? I don't see how that's possible... Even with aurum suits you'd be looking at 5000 kills... and god knows how many aurum suits you'd lose....
Hmm... well, let's try to figure it out. 40 suits per pack, 20 Assault C-1 and 20 Logistics M-1. Assuming you're decently good at the game and cherry-pick your matches pretty hard (i.e. leaving whenever you see an organized enemy squad), let's say you can put up a consistent 3.0 K/D, since you're in STD gear using whatever shitfit CCP came up with. 5000 kills / 3.0 K/D = 1,667 deaths (rounded up). 1667 deaths / 40 suits/pack = 42 packs (rounded up). 42 packs * $4.99 per pack = $209.58 On a scale from 1 to nope... noooooooope. Not doing that. Bad event is bad. Transparently milking us for all we're worth. If you want SP, you're infinitely better off spending your money on passive/active boosters.

Soraya Xel wrote:deezy dabest wrote:But seriously WHAT THE **** were you thinking making the cap 10k kills. You really would have been better off just saying there is no cap to let people feel like they were getting some leg up by grinding. Why do people feel like they have to hit every cap? Just play the game. Enjoy it. The cap prevents exploiters from abusing the offer too much. Relax. Chill. The point of caps is for them to be hit. Why tell me the maximum I'm allowed to earn if it's impossible for me to earn it? It's like a government passing a law that says factory owners can't force their employees to work more than 26 hours a day. It restricts nothing. This cap caps nothing.
Also, you're completely wrong: In this case, it actually greatly encourages exploiters and rewards them MORE than in previous events- for example, in the Commando event, if I got 750 kills as a commando legitimately, and someone boosted their way to 4000 commando kills, we both received the same reward of 750k SP. In this event, no legitimate player can ever hope to cap, so exploiters can actually get much larger rewards than any legitimate player.

We've change the flat SP bonus per kill amount from 50 to 250 SP, and 100 to 400. This does not change the standard 2x SP earning for base earnings or either the weekly cap or the bonus cap.
So, just to clarify for everyone:
2x SP earned from all actions, weekly cap is doubled. This is affected by boosters exactly as a normal double SP event.
Additionally, for every kill you will earn an additional 250 SP and 5,000 ISK, or 400 SP and 7,500ISK if you are using either of the Origin Suits. This is capped at 500,000 SP and 10mil ISK. This additional SP and ISK is not affected by boosters.
All of the event pages and descriptions will be updated to match this. If anything is still unclear, please post your issue and I'll see what I can do. One last clarification: What is meant by infantry kills? It can mean one of two things: 1) Killing OF infantry 2) Killing BY infantry. Choice 1 includes tanks killing infantry, choice #2 does not. Please let us know which is correct.... if it's #1, I'm out for the week, I have zero interest in being farmed by the 6 proto blaster tanks that will be in every single match. Of KHAAAANNNNN!!!! Looks like my 73k Soma is coming out of the shed xD Nah. The SP rewards are too small to matter, so I'm not going to bother with the event- I'm just going to spam double damage modded Sicas. There's going to be so much prey.
