"Laser focussed on the ps3"
Why the fk do people think dust could possibly get better on the ps3?, we defo need it on ps4 at some point but until then all you can realistically expect is nerfs/buffs and tweaks with sprinkles (suits, vehicles and weapons). Maybe they'd be stupid enough to try and make dust that good and fry our ps3's in the process.
Also some old patch notes stated that maps were "now unlocked for 24v24" but obviously they haven't optimised it but i personally think they can't, the ps3 has 512mb of RAM lol.
If you know what a telefrag match is, then I love you.

Michael Arck wrote:Have you even read the GD section over time? PC is a competitive setting, most people in the GD (not all) wouldn't stand a chance in PC and would cry foul.
It's not about catering. It's about being competitive.
But this is so telling of how people are in real life. Here we have DNS controlling most of MH. What does the majority do? They just whine about it. Want CCP to step in and change it. Instead of sitting down with other mercs and pooling strength from all over the globe to at least make a stand against the DNS alliance. Just like folks in the US who complain about problems but never unite to make better changes, hoping that being a internet revolutionist with a petition from change.org can make an impact. It's quite pitiful really.
The lack of foresight and care of the community brought this about. It didn't happen over night, ya know.
Actually its a simple case of never having enough isk. An alliance would have to spend about a year sat on passive isk and mechanic abuse to have a realistic shot. Even if DNS were complete sht they'd have enough to isk troll anyone out of PC.
Let's say an alliance did that, they'd still be a year behind DNS now having gathered 2 years worth. I know PC isn't meant to truly be won but who can be bothered with all that?, for nothing anyway lol. Come on now, you know as well as I do that you'd have to be an idiot to ignore that and simply believe and hope it can be done. I'm also an advocate of DNS in the fact that CCP has to do something now, they have to actually get some balls and make some fking decisions for once rather than just nerf or buff like passive aggressive, indecisive biachs.
Granted some people do simply just whine its not fair though, iv seen it.

Oh and PC was meant to be something your corp works toward but its just fundamentally sht but sadly most can't actually see it. Even the ones who say they can usually think simply lowering clone packs prices and stuff will help when that just sugar coating a turd.

I think you don't know your PS3 power. Game called MAG on the same PS3, that is in your room, could hold 128v128 so 64v64 is laughable for your Sony PlayStation 3
Son?, if you are older than 27 then fair play mate lol.
The way dust works is different to mag. Dust already pushes the ps3 and did back in beta which resulted in crashes and hard locks with some unlucky people having dust fry their ps3 but I'd put those particular cases down to people not cleaning out their ps3 now and then.

I've been screaming this from the rooftops for nearly a year now but I'm just some nobody who has boycotted PC from day one because it was obvious from then that it was all that you've just laid out above. ****. It was **** at first and now it is just sugar-coated ****, spoonfed to the spoiled brats. It needs to be scrapped entirely and reworked from square one. If CCP wants to have something that they can truly be proud of, EVERYTHING about PC as we know it needs to go away. I know they can do it, my only wonder is if they actually have the balls to.
Yes!, yeees!, same here, I have nothing to say +1.

The dark cloud wrote:The playercount doesnt matter. MAG had up to 256 players on a single map and yes that was on the PS3. Im sure the devs could decide on the fly if there would be 64vs64 or 32vs32. Even if you bring 10 crap players to a match they would still be outclassed by 5 vets at any given time. And what you guys seem to fail to understand is that there are timers so it is fair for defenders and attackers. The defenders set a reinforce timer, attackers can decide to attack when they got enough numbers on during that time. If both is correct the defending corp gets a notification about the attack and can organise a team.
The system has beeing build to allow each side to have a fair 16vs16 fight. Even on eve online there are reinforce timers in nullsec and i highly doubt that the devs will change any aspect from that anytime soon. And nothing is stopping the alliance of scrubs to gather all together and attack all districts from DNS at once. Last time i had a look they set all their districts on the same time. So if you really have the numbers and the ISK then attack all 242 districts at once. You need "only" 3872 players online to fill each match with 16 players.
I don't care about any of that, the most major issue for me is that one alliance has enough isk to troll anyone out of PC forever regardless of skill. So what we have is an end game mode that you'd have to be stupid to even bother with. Well that or stubborn.
Oh and 3872 players???? Pfftft I could recruit that in 5 mins mate lol

Zirzo Valcyn wrote:just waiting til i can play planetside 2 where epic battles are the norm, just some novelty. one day i'll look back again at the pettiness of 16 vs 16 in this so called "MMOFPS".. dust has little hope evolving on the PS3 and will remain the cute little shooter it's always been. i raged quit last night due to frame rate issues we've been dealing with for months now, there's no feasible way they can expand the player count which is the 1rst step that has to be taken to move this game forward out of it's match shooter phase. all PC did was squash a lot of hopes that dust was going to be something meaningful. before PC we all had high hopes being fed constant BS like randomly generated maps, free roam and 64 player battles.
The way I see it is that dust offers some kind of persistence but lacks decent scale warfare, ps2 is the opposite. I am very much looking forward to ps2 but it'll defo get boring. I could play it on my laptop but I'm waiting for the ps4 version.
I was playing 180 a side matches in games on my PC back in 2001 lol. Sure some servers were private or hacked to have that many players but the fact remains that console is only just gitting gud and will always be a step behind. Iv just started playing eve which really does make dust lol worthy, a whole galaxy with loads of stuff to do precisely how and when you want to but loldust.

R F Gyro wrote:Arkena Wyrnspire wrote:What did you want? 64v64? Dust can't support it. But what it can support is multiple, simultaneous battles, all of which contribute to a single objective. Remove the ability for corps to own individual districts, and make ownership happen at the planetary level. To take a planet you need to simultaneously fight for all the districts, and win the majority of them. Some planets should have only one or two districts, some should have eight or ten. Small elite corps will fight over small planets, huge mega corps will fight over large ones. The large corps won't be able to bring their numbers to bear on a small planet, and the elite corps won't have enough players to take the large planets. Most solar system in Molden Heath should have both small and large planets, so to control an entire system requires an alliance with both elite corps and large corps. Also, some of the districts should have really small battlefields and only support 8v8 battles, or maybe even 4v4.
I like this a lot, there needs to be some depth and there needs to be more to do. I really like where this idea could go. I am high so I have nothing to add right now sorry.

Further to what I said, my laptop is as beasty as the ps4 but it only has 5 cores vs the ps4's 12-15?. And my laptop is the optimum spec two years ago lol. Phones are on the precipice of being more powerful than the ps3.
Anyone know the windows 925 phone spec off the top of their head?, that's what I have and I'm pretty sure its got the equivalent of something like 1gig of RAM.
