Our main clones might. I doubt that our battle clones even have a stomach. There is no need to use expensive biomass to create a stomach that won't be used.

Clone dropsuits, the latest in New Eden Technology, It recycles everything from sweat, pee's, fart & poopers.
Hardcore Veteran grunts have been known to live off it for months on end while in deployment, unless they get shot.
I'm thinking heavy variant suits got a tanning bulb in it so them heavy's don't come out pale skinned when they remove their suits (if ever) |

Yeah we wouldn't want horney super soilders running around terrorizing the galaxy.

In theory that would might be sensible, but I bet the issues with redesigning the clone's digestion would be problematic; how would you make sure the clones had enough energy for battle? It might very well be cheaper to mass-produce all clones with a fully functional body that just needs a bit of tailoring to suit the end-user without making different ones for capsuleers, for mercs in quarters or other long term usage, and short term usage. (edit) Plus you can't just pop in and out genes as you want. To quote Academician Prokhor Zakharov, "Remember, genes are NOT blueprints. This means you can't, for example, insert "the genes for an elephant's trunk" into a giraffe and get a giraffe with a trunk. There are no genes for trunks. What you CAN do with genes is chemistry, since DNA codes for chemicals. For instance, we can in theory splice the native plants' talent for nitrogen fixation into a terran plant."
Plus, just because our battles only last 15 or so minutes doesn't mean they always will, or that all merc battles would be done that quickly in reality. The time limits are just a necessary game mechanic so we don't get bored. |

I make clones eat all the time...granted, feeding clones rounds from a charge sniper rifle has rather detrimental effects on clone health. |

Perhaps they are solar powered via panels built unto the suit, and the energy is transfered to the clone somehow? Possible, but unlikely. Even New Eden isn't quite that advanced yet I think.
I don't understand why we don't just use brains in jars attached to robotic bodies. Would be far more effective methinks. Maybe after we learn more about Sleeper tech we won't even need the "brains in jars" bit. Just robotic bodies.
