Compiled a quick list today becaue why not. feel free to argue my points or compile your own brilliant list that puts mine to absolute shame.
These are the opinion of someone who has only been playing since last November, but has played quite a lot. I would love to see how my list stacks up again both older an newer players.
If I decide these ideas are videoworthy I'll link that later on.
I start with the bad stuff and try to end on a good note
9 WORST THINGS
9. Any individual game has the chance to stagnate. Whether I'm the victor in gallente games feeling about as much excitement as I did in Grade 2 playing Simfarm, or the unlucky SOB stuck in my own redline, when a game can be locked down in one state for a solid 10 minutes or so, and I'm forced to play a podcast or music to push off the drearines, I'm sure some system could easily be implemented to push most skirmish game more quickly to their obvious solution. I'm sure 5 capped skirmish modes could be speeded up in the case that they are going to have an obvious conclusion.
8. This game sometimes makes me feel like an accountant. Most MMO's offer us the option to utilize the strongest items available to us an no serious drawback. Not so with Dust. I mind this problem the least since I sometimes (but not always) just lump this under a strategy problem.
7. Note enough love for alts No passive xp, and you only get 2 (without making more PSN accounts which is something that should just not happen).
6. No Respecs Just a ridiculous aspect of Dust. Given the massive time commitement DUST takes, there needs to be a way to mitigate the damage of a bad skill choice, whether that's the players fault or ccp for bringing nerfs to a much loved skill. Most modern MMO and or RPGs manage to include some sort of repsec option.
5. Planetary Conquest and other elements need revamps to keep the game from stagnating. I'm not going to go on at lengths for what these fixes need to be, but I'd be surprised if the community at large didn't agree with me that PC is about to enter a period of stagnation again. With Dust being an MMO, it will need to perfect the art of offering the majority of it's player base long term goals to build towards.
4. Weapon/Item Balance has been difficult to achieve and too often CCP has resorted to nerfs as a solution. Pretty self explanatory.
3. Game still has bugs that appear to have persisted for a long time. There's pole in the game that I'm not allowed to crouch behind. If I move toward this pole while crouched I get uncrouched. I don't know why but this bug bugs the hell out of me. There are a very small number others, like the not allowed to spawn glitch.
2. Game is extremely unkind to new players Not actually something I had to deal with myself since I was always searching for alternate strategies that would allow me to make an impact on the battlefield in the face of overwhelming odds. Still I know for the majority of new players this game is extremely unkind, and will leave most of them feeling like fodder for the slaughter. I'm sure tiered lobbies and several other solutions could be implemented.
1. Ambush Spawning is Broken I had to put this at the top of my list because it just seems like the most glaring probelm to me. Even some of the oldest shooters in existence managed to solve the problem of keeping players from spawning into death, if in fact it even came up during their development. No so for DUST 514. I'm strongly of the opinion that it not something that should just not happen in a well put together shooter. I realize we are only talking about 1 out of 3 game modes being broken, but it does make ambush feel very broken to me. I've been on both sides on this equation and have been very guilty of spawn camping in all 3 game modes. Despite that I would have absolutely no problem with Dust 514 instituting a system to keep me and the entire player base from having to deal with this highly imbalanced factor in the future.
Now onto the positive, the 9 best things!
9. It's ambitious. The only MMOFPS I can really think of. Respecting players enough to force us to ask u highly intelligent decision's while playing an FPS.
8. Enormous number of options for customization. Only reason this isn't higher on the list is just because so many of my fits are specifically designed to deal with worst thing # 8. But overall the diversity of what we can create with our fittings, even with just mitlitia and basic gear, has made for an important element of the playing that I do.
7. IT'S FREE Also the pay to play option's don't feel overly shoved down our throats. although some people may disagree with me on that point.
6. Corporations are an easy method for grouping players together. I only mention this because It's an important factor that many shooters and games in general fail to realize. I would love to have something like this for my halo game or for battlefield 4, which what make Dust one of my go to games for meeting other gamer I already know or know of.
5. New content is added at no extra charge. Though I am dying for new levels to be added and have a few factors keeping me from experiencing certain pieces of content, I am just SO Glad Dust has never gone the DLC route that I find completely obnoxious in most modern games.
4. Great game for youtube creators. Ok, so not something that will matter for most of the player base, but knowing I can produce content that won't be plagued by the copyright demons many content creators on youtube seem to have been fighting for a long time.
3. This game can make strategy matter. Whether it's just you and your equipment, or your team and their vehicles, Picking what you put onto the battlefield and where it goes can really turn the tide in special way that makes your players mean more then just how quick their trigger finger is. Although that helps too.

3. All 3 dimensions matter. Another Pretty self explanatory. Whether it's just taking the high ground, or getting your dropships and an uplink to that special special place, if you don't look up, your missing out on a big part of dust.
2. New events are added. Yet another self explanatory post, Dust 514's million clone challenge as well as several recent skill boosting events let me accelerate my characters and let me reach a place where I felt competitive.
1. Game rewards skill and great plays
Without a doubt will be my most controversial opinion. I honestly believe the angle I choose, My methods for entering the battlefield, that all in all, my choice influence my success across a broad range of scenarios. I can still recount several time where I brought something small onto the battlefield, and my way of bringing that something the battlefield had a disproportianetely large effect. Of course other times, I just roflcopter facerolled on my heavy...
So there you have it. It looks like the conversation is already going, and thankyou in advance for anyone who genuinely took the time to read through what I decided to post up here.

Just because I have a commonly held complaint doesn't invalidate the other points I'm making.
