Just a theory. What if we got our old sprint speeds back? That would be cool I think. What was the old speed tank speed? And I noticed something. When you hit 9.00, you feel like your gliding. Running is so much smoother.

I'm all for having the old speeds back.
The people with good gun-game would still be able to hit speed tankers just fine.

Run dem 11's and feel like you're flying across the map. People will have a hard time hitting you because of how fast you'll be moving.

I thought that CCP couldn't get faster sprint speeds to actually work without breaking something (regardless of hit detection fixes)?
I thought that is what eventually messed up the scout balance/role, since we couldn't really take speed tanking to the level heavies can take EHP tanking.

It wouldn't be the only one, I was just naming examples. Though max skills, an EC-3 has a radii of 7.87m so no you wouldn't be able to.
Another counter, would be high ROF weaponry. Assuming there is no lag and the player doesn't have their sensitivity set to 0/0, they'd be able to track you despite strafing.
I'd be difficult mind you, but still possible if the player's aim is good enough.

I don't think will be this much OP. some Scout need a little tweaks (Gal/CAl) . You can run-walk-strafe really fast with your min scout, but you can't have a huge pool of HP Sound like a fair trade to me.
With this change we actually brought back speed tanking. My only concern is PC and the LOW-FRAMERATE battle.

One thing I picked up on as an Assault player going against other Assault players was when they strafe I'd wait till they'd go back to the left or right. I wouldnt try to "track" them. I'd wait till they went to one postiion because more than likely they'd go back and forth, left and right. As I say with my cousin "When we wait for things to happen it'll be a reward for you." I don't really try to strafe too much. I move a little bit and then high tail it out of there.

Exactly, the essence of speed tanking in a nutshell.
The Kin-Cats wouldn't have to apply the full bonus - it could be seperate like Cardio Regs Max Stamina/Recharge.
It could do with something more to warrant the fitting costs.
It doesn't suprise me people only tend to stack tanking mods.

If I remember correctly, I believe speed was reduced as scouts were literally teleporting across the screen, or at least visually, as the game wasn't able to keep up with it, for whatever reason. I wasn't around at that time, but I do remember many posts regarding this same subject, and many were discussing as to how broken it was, not too being overpowered, but simply impossible to counter. |

If the whole physical impulse or whatever BS CCP implemented that slows you down when you get shot at isn't removed, a buff to sprint speed would be pointless... Don't forget about aim assist. I love to run fast and always run double kin cats on my gal scout, but spray and pray in my general direction = chance to evade reduced by 50% = dead.
On another note, PG usage for kin cats is simply too high for the little competitive advantage it gives you, unless the physical impulse mechanic was removed, kin cats need their PG usage cut by a few points.

You wouldn't be able avoid the blast of a mass driver round completely, but you gotta remember explosive dampening is a thing. Sitting at the edge of the blast radius minimizes the damage you take exponentially.
Just saying, 7m/s strafe even against the mass driver with the deadliest aim will put you at the edge of the blast radius every time.

Armor Hardeners(EVE online active module) had passive bonus to armor resistance in past when module was not active. It was something like 15% if I'm correct(short memory; more or less it was some minimal bonus), and when player decide to activate module, bonus was switched to 55%+.
Active Kin-Cats could provide similar 'double' - small passive(but smaller than other passive Kin-Cats), and large active with is of course bigger then current meta passive modules.

I remember someone at CCP saying in a video that the max foot speed is the highest it can be without breaking the game right now and something about running so fast that if you hit a wall you would die. Wish I could remember what video it was. |

3x Complex Kincats got a Scout Vk.0 to 10.63m/s Scout base movement speed was reduced but the kincat skill was given the +1% per level to efficacy which actually brought the max speed in the game to a higher level
