I really want to use squad finder. I feel like teamwork is the only thing this game has going for it. But I see in squad finder all the time "MIC REQ" or some **** like that . I really have to wonder why.
Here are the things that I hear over the comms during most matches:
burping, suckling, and/or other mouth noises background noise wind complaining idle chit chat
These are the things I'd like to hear more of instead:
"spawn x and we're doing x" simple call outs (2 hostile north of bravo, blaster tank near CRU in city, etc.) where did you die and why and by who (Gallente heavy near the point!!! ****!!!!) where are you and where are you going and why should I care (I'll hack C and get an uplink down and meet you in the city.)
And pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease, if you're eating just go to Push to Talk. It's right at the top of the chat window in the top right corner. Just click it until your done sticking the mic in your mouth or mowing the yard or whatever it is you are doing.
Thanks!
I spent half my ISK on gambling, alcohol and wild women. The rest I wasted.

LOL. Nice try and thanks for playing. But expecting communication about the match at hand and receiving burping noises instead does not sound like "high complex teamwork" to me.

I use push-to-talk, and almost never talk, aside from asking people what they're eating and joining in on their personal conversations that they left their mic on for.

I get drunk and just get into some team chat sometimes. I'll spawn and be all loud and ****.
"LET'S GO TEAM!!!! YEAHH!!!! **** THOSE RED PEOPLE!!!!!"
Stuff like that. Hell, sometimes I'll narrate the whole match and what's going on and who's dieing next to me and what I'm doing and tank locations and everything. Never once has anyone ever said anything back.

Yea, you'll find that you often have even more success with several experienced players without mics that have a tacit understanding regarding what to do in the game.

Tech Guard is recruiting, we're a social teamwork based corp and dont require you to have a mic :)
Not everyone needs one, just the squad leader minimum.

If you want this.. why not make your own squad in the finder and require the things you want. Other I am sure feel the same and will join. I'm not a big mic player - I would join a NO mics required squad. |

**** a mic. Just give me 5 other dudes that know how to stick together and run more than 2 matches an hour and I'll be satisfied. I don't like all the chatter. I like to be able to hear what's going on. I can't count how many times hearing a Scout's footsteps have saved me and I'd like to be able to hear the CRU/Uplink spawns when I'm camping that ****, too. |

Join 48th special operations force (squad[you can also join corp])if you want to hear that, I agree to. This game is about team work and not just burping, if your going to use mics, use it in a tactic manner |

I mean, mics are great for hanging out and chatting with friends. But in all honesty, when playing dom or ambush, everyone (if half decent) should know what they are supposed to be doing.

What is funny is half the time you go in through squad finder and start doing call outs like that the leader will throw you lead and disappear. |

OP makes a point. Even corp squadmates aren't as helpful as they're made to be, on many an occasion.
Some would rather complain about their losses to clackers than agree to your tactical suggestion. I find myself running solo every now and then to practice self-reliability. |

usually i just say, "mic is charging" when there's a bunch of men giggling/mumbling over the mic. there's a few people i use mics with but if i haven't played with them before i say mic is charging. truth is my mic is a plug in. some matches where were steam rolling the other team we will joke and chat but i can't stand chatter when trying to fly during a tough match that takes all my focus. some people just dont understand that the mic is not their soap box before expecting everyone to laugh at their jokes. then there's the girls who sing out of key to rhianna in the back ground...
