I am requesting the amount of isk we get paid at the end of a match to be doubled. Its not an easy task to break even in this game, and if your like me, you don't like using budget suits because quite frankly, you don't like dying in 3 shots. If this is too much to ask, hows about side tasks with the contracts we can take on for like 50,000 isk, and it we pull it off, we are rewarded with more isk. So it would be like;
Objective: Capture or assist capture an objective and get 5 kills near the objective
Challenge cost: -20,000 isk
Completion reward:+200,000 isk
Challenge duration: 2 matches
I am open to criticism
Sentinel: I am heavy weapons guy...
Commando: I got a RR and a CR, Im so good.
Logi: In it 4 the points and points only.

My initial reaction was "stop being poor!". (Also double is ridiculously over the top. For tips to stop being poor, see * in below response.)
But then I kept reading, and actually enjoyed you're idea of in-map objectives. It would be interesting to have objectives for one team (or both teams) randomly introduced to maps. Such objectives could be triggered once certain (secret) triggers are met such as: 1: X players are within Y meters of each other (or a central point). The goal: eliminate or force out players within the radius.
Example of a Prize: Extra 50K payouts to winning team.
2: Team A has been holding letter D, for a very long time (x minutes, unknown/random timer). Team B has Y minutes to capture (and team A has Y minutes to prevent hack) D to earn bonus.
Example of a Prize: Extra 20% payout (whatever you would have gotten *1.2)
3: Team A has X redline snipers, and has had them for Y minutes (ie: they are not just passing through). Each sniper will attain a bounty on their heads. First person to terminate each sniper, will receive bounty on that player's head. A redline sniper can remove the bounty from their head by exiting the redline, and staying out for 60 consecutive seconds.
Example of a Prize: Aurum proto version of the weapon they killed that player with.
Obviously all of these are just examples and there are many other ways to spice up objectives, but honestly, it would be a way to add flavor to all of the current game types, without, dispersing the player population to additional game types. |

I like the double isk idea, but see the possibility of it just compounding the issue of protobears in pubs. Not really sure if there can be a happy medium but we do need a new way to make isk in this game.

And that's the problem with adjusting payouts so dramatically. |

but heres the thing, proto stompers will always be proto stompers. The bigger corps are full of em' and they provide $ for the corp members so they stay proto stomping, while you got guys like us trying so hard to make a profit each match against proto gear. This is another one of those things tthat make noobs quit. I'm sure they start the game not knowing how easy it will become to be broke in a matter of a few matches, then next thing you know, you got noobs who cant afford what they skilled into and stuck using militia gear.

You are correct, some proto stompers will be proto stompers. This is motly because of funds from PC, corp subsidies, etc. PC has it's own issues which I won't go into here, but I agree that PC funds going into pubs is a problem.
However, if you were to raise the payouts, players like me, who currently only dabble in proto, would be able to afford and use it much more often. Right now, the amount of ISK I earn is the only thing holding me back. If you raise that, I would be able to afford (and probably would) proto much more. Then the difference between me and a noob becomes skillpoints (rather than both skillpoint and ISK limitations), and I think you see where I am going with this.
The current payouts limit the amount of proto stomping to those who are subsidized by their corp in some way, those who have been frugal and are rich, and those who use aurum gear. If you raise the payouts, aurum gear sales would go down (I know, saving ISK isn't the only reason people use AUR gear, but it's one of the main 2 reasons people do it), which in turn, hurts CCP and game development.

Oh yeah, I think CCP could add a lot to the game with them. Especially if they keep them fluid. They could incorporate them with events as well perhaps.
But yes, Good idea with the challenges! |

What is this an Amarr only thread? Anyways if they double pub ISK then they have to double PC ISK. But I do agree with the objectives.

Yeah, there's a lot of people that would run proto if they could afford to lose more than 2 suits in a battle and still make a profit, quite a few of which are people on the opposite team of the protostompers. Like I said in another post about this; they say to fight fire with fire but it's kind of hard to when you can afford what you need to start a fire.

Dustbunny Durrr wrote:* How to stop being poor. This main aspect applies to the real world as well.
2: Make sure you know how much each suit costs, part of your suit name should be the suit cost (For example, "Amarr Sent HMG- 17K"). Often you might not realize how much ISK you're losing, when you're losing a suit.
3: You don't have to run "Free" starter suits to make ISK. Be like Macklemore, go to the dollar store, buy some s#*t and rock that mother****er. You'd be surprised how little difference there is between 10-15K basic fitted suit, and an similar 45K advanced fitted suit.
Most of the suits I run are 15-20K. Some are as cheap as 5K. That's not to say that I don't splurge on nice toys every once in a while, but 85% of the time, I'm in a suit that costs less than 20K, because I know, otherwise I wont be able to afford those nice toys.
I have blueprints and i hate it when i do this because i usually run very similiar fittings, that and they do better than my proto ****.
I run a 'covenant' assault c-1 with basic AR with 2 MLT damage mods, 2 enhanced armour plates and a compact nanohive. My usual fit costs anywhere from 2k-5k
Unbelievable. That guy (me) tanks with a sica, adv cannon and kills my proto tank in 3 hits? Yea i did, so what

Its funny cause i run my proto gear and adv gear all the time but i am notorious for isk grinding all the time.
I really could get alot of money running my cheap suits but unfortunately with all these tank spammers they **** me off so i run a medium expensive tank and usually only lose enough to go a little negative.
Damn impulses make me spend money, from now on im isk grinding for a full month except when my corp is in need of my logi.

They should make isk payouts based on the price of the gear the enemies lost. This means, when a proto stomp group goes up against 16 blueberries fresh from academy, yes they can pad their kdr but they don't get any real isk payout. However, if each blueberry has one lucky shot and kills a proto, they'll all get 200k isk.
This also means if your in one of those awesome rare battles where the teams are balanced and everyone stays fighting till the end, both sides will get a massive payout and running proto in that type of match will be justified.

Im sorry bro but that would ruin the dust 514 economy especially if they ever tried connecting it to EVE.
The payouts are just way to big and everyone would be running proto. Simply you just need to manage your money
