My initial reaction was "stop being poor!". (Also double is ridiculously over the top. For tips to stop being poor, see * in below response.)
But then I kept reading, and actually enjoyed you're idea of in-map objectives. It would be interesting to have objectives for one team (or both teams) randomly introduced to maps. Such objectives could be triggered once certain (secret) triggers are met such as: 1: X players are within Y meters of each other (or a central point). The goal: eliminate or force out players within the radius.
Example of a Prize: Extra 50K payouts to winning team.
2: Team A has been holding letter D, for a very long time (x minutes, unknown/random timer). Team B has Y minutes to capture (and team A has Y minutes to prevent hack) D to earn bonus.
Example of a Prize: Extra 20% payout (whatever you would have gotten *1.2)
3: Team A has X redline snipers, and has had them for Y minutes (ie: they are not just passing through). Each sniper will attain a bounty on their heads. First person to terminate each sniper, will receive bounty on that player's head. A redline sniper can remove the bounty from their head by exiting the redline, and staying out for 60 consecutive seconds.
Example of a Prize: Aurum proto version of the weapon they killed that player with.
Obviously all of these are just examples and there are many other ways to spice up objectives, but honestly, it would be a way to add flavor to all of the current game types, without, dispersing the player population to additional game types. |

And that's the problem with adjusting payouts so dramatically. |

Tonka Legacy wrote:but heres the thing, proto stompers will always be proto stompers. The bigger corps are full of em' and they provide $ for the corp members so they stay proto stomping, while you got guys like us trying so hard to make a profit each match against proto gear.
You are correct, some proto stompers will be proto stompers. This is motly because of funds from PC, corp subsidies, etc. PC has it's own issues which I won't go into here, but I agree that PC funds going into pubs is a problem.
However, if you were to raise the payouts, players like me, who currently only dabble in proto, would be able to afford and use it much more often. Right now, the amount of ISK I earn is the only thing holding me back. If you raise that, I would be able to afford (and probably would) proto much more. Then the difference between me and a noob becomes skillpoints (rather than both skillpoint and ISK limitations), and I think you see where I am going with this.
The current payouts limit the amount of proto stomping to those who are subsidized by their corp in some way, those who have been frugal and are rich, and those who use aurum gear. If you raise the payouts, aurum gear sales would go down (I know, saving ISK isn't the only reason people use AUR gear, but it's one of the main 2 reasons people do it), which in turn, hurts CCP and game development.

Oh yeah, I think CCP could add a lot to the game with them. Especially if they keep them fluid. They could incorporate them with events as well perhaps.
But yes, Good idea with the challenges! |
