How do you Fit it?
I used it with 2 hardener and a afterburner but that was before the hardener's nerf, how should I Fit it now?

Is the afterburner a MUST or is it possible to remote it for something else?

You could switch out the afterburner for a hardener but I'm not sure how effective that would be

Do you really play with 3 extenders?

If you can dodge AV efficiently then booster isn't necessary.

What abput: booster afterburner and extender?

The afterburner isn't a must, however since you are a an inexperienced pilot a gtfo button might be good. I use afterburners because I find the speed and counter thrust crucial for some of the maneuvers I do, and to gtfo when the reds decide they don't like me anymore it seems fitting max tank is the best way to go, but you will need good fitting skills if you fly with gunners.

No. More buffer means more survivability and userfriendliness (that fit can take two proto rails). Shields will regen faster than the booster will recharge and there's no need to worry about activating a mod.

I disagree completely with jerrmy.
Max buffer is the way to go, hardener and booster cooldowns are for suckers. A double heavy extender python has about as much, if not more, EHP than a hardened non-extended python, with no cooldown. The trick is to not ever let your shields drop all the way- once you take that first AV shot, it's time to pop the AB and GTFO. In 4 seconds your regen will start, you'll be back at full shields in maybe 10 seconds, then you can head right back in and keep shooting. As a Python speed and agility is your greatest advantage, you can engage and disengage against AV with ease, you need to exploit that. No sense in using cooldown-based setups when you really don't need them.

Hardeners are a joke, I never used them even before the nerf.

Afterburners are a must for Pythons. Your not going to out tank a forge or rail no matter your fit, so the best option is to either fly away or speed tank to beat their tracking.

That leaves 2 slots for hp mods. 2 hardeners is less ehp than the above fit only using one and using both hardeners at once leaves you useless for a while. Using a hardener and extender is slightly better, but you're hosed if you're caught with your hardener off or during cooldown, which can be a decent amount of time.

Boosters are pretty useful when paired with hardeners, but it's a pain to juggle multiple active mods and fly and, of course, the cooldowns are a pain.

Straight buffer/extender tanking is the best because of the quick regen rate and adequate defenses.

And the way you take out a forge is by orbiting. Dodge fire while keeping your nose pointed at him, and if you take a hit, fly away and come back in a few secs when you shields regen.
