Dust 514 is an amazing game, even though 1.8 has just been released, I still think it needs more... One thing, just to add in a little extra spice, would be to have racial MCC's, RDV's and have HAV's LAV's and Dropships available for each and every race. I think that would be quite a neat addition, therefor after upgrading HAV operation, you could spec into Amarr, Minmitar, Gallente, or even Caldari tanks. That would be quite nice. As far as the cloak goes, I have tried it and its ok, some people putting it onto a heavy suit that's freaking stupid, but I don't really think it needs a nerf, I would say its rather balanced, shotgunning was REALLY hard without the cloak, and now its much easier, even though I don't use it anymore because I enjoy head to head combat. So you are hearing this from someone who doesn't use it. Nerfing the damage modules was one of the best decisions ever, (even though I have complex) I think that was important because people can do 40% extra damage, and that was quite stupid. The sidearms introduced into 1.8 are good, except for the ION Pistol, that thing sucks just saying it needs a buff, I have never seen a person use a prototype ION Pistol. Maybe buff it for range or a heat build up like the Scrambler Rifle, but not one full charge shot then wait for it to cool down. Magsec SMG is great, and I am loving the Bolt Pistol, neither of them are too OP, they are just right. The light PILOT Dropsuit isn't available yet. I think, (remember this is just an idea) that it would be neat if the pilot dropsuit allowed 3 sidearms. This might be OP, but I think that would make a good use of the 3rd slot inbetween the sidearm and the grenade, sidearms aren't the MOST powerful weapons so it might not be too bad, however having three weapons would mean ALOT more ammunition, therefor not running out as quick, but I think that would be kind of cool, and maybe even a Vehicle damage, or defence bonus, possibly dependant on which race you get the pilot gear on. Ok now I have deciphered our message (well written but seriously, break it up a bit next time)
Racial parity on vehicles would be nice but I think we may be waiting a while, unless CCP really pulls it out the bag at Fanfest. The existing vehicles still have some balance issues that need working out, then the new vehicles will need balancing against their racial counterparts. As for the RDV/MCC I personally believe it can wait as aesthetics aren't a crucial aspect for right now. Unless of course the other races actually train their pilots, in that case get them in already!
As for the pilot suits, three side arms is a bit extreme in my opinion. From my understanding the Pilot class is NOT a combat role. They will be designed to enhance vehicle attributes, perhaps with the addition of unique modules for the suit. I think they will perhaps have one side arm slot and one grenade slot. Since the Pilot's vehicle is their weapon, they are provided a basic means of defence should they be caught on foot.
The rest of the post was a brief review of 1.8, which I will not comment on as I don't wish to incite a QQ battle. |
