If I'm in a squad and I place down uplinks, will they be limited to squad use only?
I ask because I decided to squad up with a Japanese corp last night, and for the 3 hours I stayed in their group, my uplinks seemed to only be accessible to them and not the entire team. |

Everyone can use them
I would skill in uplinks if there was an option to set them to squad or self only

they work team wide, been using them for a year and in many matches as a solo player so I know for sure they are for the entire team.
your squad may have been the only one choosing to use them, or you may have not noticed other mercs using your links.
this game makes me sad....

I wonder if my uplinks were bugged, because I seemed to be the primary uplink provider during our games. I'd field 5 uplinks on startup, die and change fits, place another 4, die again, and finally finish with 4 more.
However, it was seldom that the +25 from uplink spawns appeared on my screen--even during games where we'd lose 90% of all clones. |

I actually noticed last week in a couple matches that there we uplinks on the map that were still blue yet, but were not even selectable as a spawn. The cursor wouldn't even go over to them, so there's a bug somewhere. Not the first time I've seen that happen in matches.
Always the last person to leave. Always the one cleaning up people's messes.

I wouldn't doubt if they do. I frequently have the supply depot get bugged also as I can walk around the thing and it will give me no ammo whatsoever. My radar still doesn't work right all the time either. I have tons of matches where people won't show up unless I'm looking at them only despite running a Caldari scout suit with range amplifiers.

Those are uplinks that have been destroyed, the game, server, or what not just hasn't gotten around to cleaning it up. I once was trying to spawn at an uplink, only to get the 'uplink destroyed' interrupt message yet the icon remained there but it I couldn't select it and was there everytime I went to the overview map.

Depends on where you're placing them and what game mode.
No they aren't restricted to just your squad.
People don't always spawn on uplinks noww because of the longer time to spawn compared to normal objectives. In ambush you have the smart deploy option.
I place uplinks where it is easy for players to drop down from, or where they won't easily be destroyed.
I also put uplinks far away from objectives, or in between objectives for the best chance of players spawning on them.

its because they have hit max but there is sometimes a delay between what youre seeing and the actual link on the map... that link is already gone... some kind of lag for lack of a better descriptive word.
this game makes me sad....

smart deploy is broken... we tested this the other day with some poorly placed links... hitting smart deploy still deployed us at the links.
this game makes me sad....
