Yeah, on an off day, or some day without over drama, we usually talk about dirty jokes, or anime, usually anime though. Anime peaked with Akira, it's all been downhill since 1988. |

Evangelion was alright. If you didn't watch it in one sitting in 1997 as a fan translation on a copied VHS at your friends house you are scrub tier though. When I saw the DVD release as a box set at best buy in 2002 I knew that today's kids would grow up soft and weak and full of spite. Couldn't get into that show, the main character was way too whiny and didn't do anything unless they practically broke his arm. And honestly, I wasn't a big fan of Akira, I recognized the genius behind it, it just wasn't up my alley, I'm more into awkward schoolgirl romance anime. It makes me giggle a whole bunch. I do agree with one thing, anime has gotten bland and stale lately. Shinji was a *****, you watched to see Asuka snap and kill **** while cussing in german. |

I now we should have an informal "War Room" brunch for anyone who happens to be going to FanFest.
Isn't Brunch during that time you need to get over your Hangovers from the night before? Why get over them when a hair-of-the-dog will put you right back in the saddle.
Why do you think the traditional brunch beverage is the Mimosa and the Bloody Mary? |

Spice and Wolf, Steins Gate, Attack on Titans, Log Horizon, Mahou Madoka Magica, and Fate Stay Zero - all on Akira's level and recent. Actually, Madoka Magica is probably BETTER then Akira. But it's hard to compete with the reality Akira put forth in it's plot, making the entire shows story all the more deep. I could go on if I tried to list every show between 98' and now. Like Great Teacher Onizuka and Negima.
Spice and Wolf was okay in the same way Umberto Eco's "The Name of the Rose" needed another chapter about the political implications of Jesus' vow of poverty for 14th century monastic communities. Attack on Titan was boring emo crap with no real plot development, the rest are middling weaboo filler. None are on Akira's level. |
