So here's a thing someone discovered:

CCP have or are in the process of trademarking an online game called "EVE Legion"
My thoughts are it could be a re-branding of Dust 514 for the following three reasons:
1. Dust 514 is a name that doesn't give an immediate connection to the EVE universe
2. CCP want to use a consistent product naming convention (EVE Online, EVE Valkyrie, EVE Legion)
3. Dust 514 has some bad publicity attached to it, and so losing the name could be likened to a fresh start |

As welcome as a PC port would be, I don't believe they've had the programming time? Unless the current engine has a "Convert to PC code" button, which would be awesome but highly unlikely. |

I can see them doing a "Start a PC account for a 10 million sp bonus!" thing. PC players would still be behind most PS3 players in sp terms, but it would close the gap and incentivise account creation.
In such an unlikely scenario as a PC port announced in the near future, I expect the PS3 version would run alongisde a while until it was time to quietly retire it. |

Would an RTS be overstretch territory for CCP, I wonder? I mean they just shut down WoD because it was unsustainable (don't believe this crap about it not being up to their standards - they just ran out of money), and they don't have the staff or resources to do much with Dust (hell, they don't even test their new builds internally).
Not that another game is impossible, but given that Dust is not a success and - as an unreleased product - Valkyrie is not earning anything, can CCP really afford the gamble of a completely new project on top? |
