So despite the somewhat shameful reactions by community members I can see what you are asking, forgive them for they do not understand this concept of understanding.

The reason we make use of such seemingly non-function weapons is because our weapons are significantly more powerful than those borne by standard humans. In case you did not know we are clones...but not normal clones. Ours are 7 feet tall and bio engineered to give us peak efficiency in combat.

Additionally we use incredibly high tech combat armour, thus our weapons are so powerful than ordinary humans cannot wield them. E.G- the Scrambler Rifle would set and unarmoured user aflame, a rifle would break the arms of a human with the recoil, etc.

As for why they do not functionally resemble RL weapons and such weapons as see in other games.... I put that down to design by CCP.

MCC not providing air support? We honestly dont know how powerful the MCC would be if it turned its guns planet side...... our districts might not be big enough to contain its destructive forces..... we simply don't know why it isn't doing that.

EVE breaks down the "races" into blood lines, while humanity is fundamentally the same species these groups did spend a couple of thousand years apart....... and in their own ways are also fundamentally different peoples at this point..... perhaps at this point humanity hasn't gotten past those differences quite yet.
