Like all these cool weapons are totally useless, like the rail rifle and Combat rifle. No real guns have to charge before firing, and the combat rifle is just stupid looking. Where's the ergonomics?
I also don't understand why the MCC isn't providing air support and why its just sitting there getting attacked. Take evasive maneuvers!
Also, people keep talkin about racial dropsuits. Well...looking at some of the EVE backstory...it seems that all the "races" are human, and that there's great racial diversity in every single faction. So what's up there? Shouldn't it be nationalities instead?
This game is set 26000-28000 years in the future, weapons like the Ak47 were long outdated with the humans using them (by about 6000-7000 years) when they found the wormhole that led them to new eden. Conventional projectiles don't need to charge because they're powered by explosive force - scramblers are laser weapons passing a ton of energy through a frequency crystal that converts it into a high powered laser - when you're 'reloading' them you're actually swapping out battery packs, Rail rifles are well - railguns and even in real life they *DO* need to charge, 'Assault rifles' are actually plasma blaster technology that sheathes the plasma in a magnetic containment field before firing it. The closest you get to conventional projectiles is the minmatar combat rifle - which has been known to use phased plasma tipped 'bullets', nuclear 'bullets', and emp 'bullets'.
As for the MCC providing air support - it is - it's shooting at the other MCC, because according to fluff the null cannons have a vulnerability in their system that allows them to be hijacked for air defence if a MCC is present to provide the thousands of terrabytes of processing power needed to hack it, when two mcc's show up on the same grid null cannons go neutral unless a dropsuit provides manual interfacing.
All the 'races' are human... technically, But they've grown up on their own worlds after the collapse of the eve gate, developed their own cultures and are essentially their own ethnicities, with the caldari coming from American, Japanese and Russian stock, the gallente coming from French, Korean and various European stocks, the Minmatar, being representative of groups like Polynesians, Africans and Native Americans with a small smattering of asian, and the Amarr having some Middle eastern, European and Chinese stock.
Quite a few of the different races completely *loathe* some of the others. The caldari lost a great deal of their population in the first gallente-caldari war when the gallente bombed caldari prime in the name of 'freedom', the loss was so great that the caldari literally had to resort to a generation of mostly test tube children.
