If they one shot you then no, there isn't. This rewards snipers that take their time, choose their targets carefully, and line up their shots as opposed to just aiming center mass and getting off as many shots as possible.

Directional indicators only appear when you are still alive. So you'll never see the direction of the shot that actually kills you.

Try & watch your ragdoll effects when you are sniped. You can get an idea of which direction it came from. If there is a damage mod on you will usually spill one way or another.
Most snipers nowadays need multiple shots to drop you, watch for follow up rounds too.

I hate this feature.
I think I was watching a video on this and basically video game devs try and make each feature as fun for both parties and when the features aren't fun issues start to arise with the game itself.
Sniping is a massive issue cause its only fun for the snipers. Sure tanks aren't fun to get killed by but you know where they are to AV them next time. Sure proto stompers aren't fun but you can run free stuff to counter it or Proto yourself (if you can). Snipers however can't be countered cause you have no idea where they are and without actually skilling into sniper rifles, you can't effectively counter them as they usually redline so foot soldiers or vehicles haven't really get them. and don't come at me with railguns as they got rid of the sniper railgun variant making it nigh impossible to get redline snipers (the majority).
Redline sniping should be removed or sniping as a whole should be reviewed. |

you rarely see your ragdoll, and the only snipers really encountered are proto or thale snipers. In this case its almost always a one shot kill. |

Sniping = target practice
Combat Soldiering = 360 degree awareness out to 70 meters at all times, hiding, darting, covering your buddy, enduring the vulnerability of hacking, changing weapons to respond to various situations, staying on the move, aiming while moving/strafing, etc. etc. etc.
Of course, if everyone goes sniper, then it will solve the problem.
