First off. Let's laugh at the people who only read the title and responded thinking that this was another generic, "Dust will die because of another game" thread.
Now. For those of you who don't know, H1Z1 is a zombie MMO game, much in the same vein as DayZ and it's precursor Arma II mod, being developed for the PS4 and windows by Sony. Like Dust, it's F2P. Also like Dust, Sony or the developers don't have a clear way of monetizing it. It's to my belief that H1Z1 will be a great "guinea pig" for CCP to watch as it develops on the PS4 and windows while being in a very similar situation as it, no matter if it's a failure or success. Before CCP launches to the PS4, they can watch as H1Z1 tries to thrive and survive on the new console. The game will soon be up for early access through a $20 cost so we should get insight sooner rather than later.
I'm personally hoping H1Z1 succeeds for both Dust's sake and it's own sake. If I get a PS4 while the early access is going on, more than likely I'll buy a pass  . I think it has a big chance to succeed considering the game-scape for the PS4 but I'm heavily worried about how they'll make $$$ off of it. How about you guys?

I also don't agree that Sony or CCP is having an issue monetising the game. Aside from the wild popularity of boosters, I see a lot of AUR gear even in pub matches. F2P games that have any dependency on time for progression will always be easily monetised by giving keen gamers a chance to get the carrot sooner.
I don't think DUST has anything to learn from a zombie MMO though tbh.

I did it for the lulz. Plus it garners attention as well as help pinpoint the negative minded.
And CCP has stated that they are having issues monetising the game, which is why they brought in someone to help them do so. It's not that they're broke or losing a lot of money, but have limited things to spend money on. People like me who don't care for boosters and Aurum gear, have nothing to spend money on.

You know, it could work lore wise but for gameplay it'll need some expansion on the idea. Lol like how are they gonna hurt us super soldiers with shields and armor? If they can get pass that, the game mode would be legit.
