RE5 ruined the fear-factor that made me want to play Resident Evil in the first place, and RE6's story and gameplay is terrible. RE 4 was pretty damn good for an actionization of the Thriller Survival Horror Franchise...... I would suggest DAY Z but that really degenerates into PVP rather than zombie combat. I'd love to see a game where zombies would 1-2 shot you, be in shambling hordes, with guns and ammo as treasures. With massive survival and base building options and on line PvP.
Resident evil 4 didn't even have zombies and the game went to crap after the giant fish. The village section was good but everything after was garbage.
They put the same resident evil 4 nonsense inti the evil within and now it's getting terrible reception as it deserves lol.

I was personally rather impressed with the technical advances they threw down on Resi 4 even if the story lacked its original core themes it used to have.
Agreed but after the village they just turn into armored enemies with crossbows, throwing sickles at you, dynamite, and the big guys with miniguns. so stupid. And the reason I said after the fish is because that's when they start exploding inti tentacle monsters if you shoot them in the head which is the dumbest thing in the game.
Sure it was fresh and had new features but overall the game was more comical thanscary. Just mowing people down like cod and they grunt and snarl. half the bosses are tentacle monsters and the ending jetski sequence is dumb and don't get me started on Ashley or the tall centipede guy with superman strength.
The village is tense and it's good old survival horror than capcom steps in and say but wait we've thrown in a bunch of wacky nonsense like a resident evil movie reference, laser guns and it just turns into a big joke.
I want a resident evil that's all village. No telekinesis super human bosses, no giants, no enemies with ranged weapons, body armor and no tentacle monster heads. Just me against an angry village of psycho cannibals and a few have chainsaws. They've done the same thing with the evil within, it has a mansion instead of a castle, giant black shadow creatures instead of tentacles and now the superhuman guy is an albino kid who can stop bullets with his mind.
This is why capcoms almost bankrupt.
