I sometimes see this, too. If the map is smaller, it's full of heavies and heavies with CR's. |

#sighs I love my combat rifle.
Lets look at it ( for those that didn't see it the moment it landed )
1) Low fitting costs
2) Good damage profile
As a logi with no side arm it is perfect for me for the above reasons. I always use the STD version ( I am half way into my proficiencies ) so it allows me to fit either a better tank or better equipment or a mix of both.
So the question is - why wouldn't anyone use it ??
BUT lets not go overboard & say the CR is a weapon that everyone is using when I die to shotguns, HMG's, rail rifles , tanks, ADS's & RE's. There is only 2 of them that are annoying me atm. Tanks are annoying atm because they all know forges are firing furry unicorns ( hotfix ftw ) & being shotgunned by the invisible man.

The combat rifle is fine. I still use rail rifles on open maps and destroy entire squads cause i outrange them easy. In my opinion the assault rifle needs a rate of fire buff to justify the higher fitting costs over the combat rifle.

And have you ever tried to use the CR with even a little bit of lag? Yeah, funny how it makes the weapon COMPLETELY UNUSABLE because automatic weapons don't have to rely on the game registering constant trigger presses.

That's what happens when you make a high dps weapon with 95% shield and 115% armor damage profile. Ccp balances all their guns against the opposing race and any gun fit to kill amarr suits is good enough to kill any suit especially if it has some of the highest dps for whatever reason.
Change the profile damage to 95/105 and it would still be a potent weapon. |

It has already a Big problem because of its clip size. Have you ever tried killing an high hp enemy with it? The acr is fine because it is balanced by Its clip size and its kick

I dont want it to be useless just a change in profile would still make it a good weapon.

We finally have a great mix of weapons back on the battlefield (don't know what games you guys are playing but honestly I haven't seen this much diversity since chrome - AR514, RR514, TANK514) and everyone is still bitching about one weapon. Each weapon is great at what it does in the right environment. Having multiple skilled weapons is what let's you succeed so let's stop doing this dumb ******* nerf/buff bullshit and just ******* adapt already.

Infantry weapons are probably more balanced than they have ever been. Yes, CR and ACR are probably the best all round weapons, but they get dominated at range by RR and laser, and at close range by HMGs and shotguns. Mass drivers are also back to competitive, and ScR should be now Amarr Assault skill is working. So there's 6-10 competitive weapons, whereas 1.7 had only really 3 or 4, and 1.6 only a couple. It's great to have a range of viable weapons to choose from.
The only downside is that I'm starting to sound like a CCP fanboi [fires boundless CR burst into own head] |
