 I want an Amarr shotgun.

The way I imagine it is like a Scrambler Rifle with a beam splitter. With a twist!

The beams always fire in the exact same hexagonal pattern, but the beams get closer and closer together as you charge it up.
When fully charged, all of the beams occupy the same space, and the Amarr shotgun becomes more of a heavy rifle.

Each beam would do 35Hp, when fully charged the damage will multiply by 2.

 Here's an example:

When tap firing each beam will do 35hp without multiplying, unless you get a headshot
  so 35 x 6 = 210hp
When charged-up that 210hp will multiply to 420hp

 What do you guys think?

But that doesn't mean that can't make their own Shotgun variant.

It should present with mushroom tip.
What it actually does matters little, but it must look funny.

That said, a slug projectile (for added range) and/or a charging mechanic would be cool.

The Gal shotgun would still be better.

 Gal shotgun has 5 meters.

Amarr shotgun would have around 9m.

Rather than force parity on weapons that obviously wouldn't match the racial technology, why not class the shotgun as a "short range" light weapon, and make a new weapon entirely for the Amarr that would still fill that role?

Something like a short range pulse laser with terrible damage falloff, but with a very wide beam (or a cone) that does more damage towards the center? It still acts like a shotgun, but it uses one focused beam to deal damage rather than force a traditional shotgun "twenty bullets spread out over derp" idea.

Agreed. Some weapons just exemplify the race. For instance I can't see much room for many other sniper rifles. The rail sniper is kind of unique. Shotgun is a perfect example of Gallente style. Hot loads of plasma in your face. I know they showed other knives at fanfest last year but what else could they do with knives besides different art? I doubt we will see other mass drivers or laser rifles either. I think some weapon sets will have multiple races but I just can't imagine an Amarr take on shotguns. It doesn't fit their doctrine of brick tanks and long range lasers.
