please remove the auto turning of turrets when a vehicle turns. its a bloody stupid mechanic.
the DS turns right and your turret auto turns to the left and then locks in position until the ds stops turning. it makes no sense at all. even in RL your turret doesn't move from its arc when on a moving vehicle

I'm confused
its not steady and exactly where i'm looking because the turret is forced to one side. i would much rather it be free to move where i want it at all times. i should be able to turn the turret left and right at the same speed without the direction the ds is moving screwing it up

Also, it makes perfect sense to turn "slower" in the direction opposite to the DS turn. The turret has a set tracking speed so the turn of the DS either adds or subtracts from that speed relative to a perspective outside the DS. Since your turret doesn't turn with the dropship, you are basically looking from an outside perspective.
If you were looking from the perspective of the dropship, where the dropship doesn't move but everything else does, you'd notice that the turrets automatically track in the opposite direction of the turn. This provides the steady aim for gunners while the dropship is turning, but also makes it seem like you can't turn as fast in one direction as you can in the other.
It's just physics.
i have used a turret moving at high speed on a vehicle. and i tell you now it makes no difference whatsoever. you are in the vehicle and for all intensive purposes you are part of the vehicle. when that vehicle drives at 50mph i am moving at 50mph, when it turns 180 degrees i turn with it at the same rate. the speed at which i turn the turret left or right is the same whether the vehicle is moving or not.
the turret should not turn with the vehicle. you shouldn't be penalised in 1 direction for stability in a direction you don't want to turn.
example. you have a full 180 degree arc with an enemy in the center. he starts to run right across your field of view. he approaches the end of your 180 degree view so you ask the dropship pilot to rotate right. as he turns right your turret starts to move left further away from the target your tracking you then compensate as the vehicle is moving slowly and your tracking is faster than the player your tracking. however if that dropship moves too fast you quickly end up with a full left lock on your turret unable to counter the turn with your tracking speed.
the current system would be great if it was for a 180 degree underside view but but with the small arc of view of the current turrets its counter productive

You'll only be unable to move the turret if you're turning against the rotation of the dropship, but with it you'll have twice the tracking speed. I still don't see why you have such an issue with this.
you don't get twice the tracking speed. you get the same as you always did. its just the vehicle moving appears to give you more when you track opposite to the rotation of the vehicle. that is until you want to change direction to follow the rotation of the vehicle where you cannot track at all. its not physics. its broken mechanics

im not speaking in an alien language, is it really that hard to understand dropship turns right and your right hand tracking is severely hampered or stopped completely. its not hard to understand.
