I had a thought about camper cloak scouts what I was thinking is if the scout is stood still so he/she is invisible a low buzzing or humming sound should be heard or another idea was interference with the hud when in close proximity to a scout stood still .. like its a build up of energy from the cloak |

No. What's the point of hiding when you could be heard. Can't you use our ******* eyes for once instead of having to rely on a crutch to?

'sneaks into a location and starts grabbing info about who's there and what they are using'
enemy 1- There's a scout near, look around for a bit
enemy 2- I see him! he's over there
'enemies 1 and 2 point their guns at me and melts me instantly'
Use your ******* eyes instead of asking for a crutch.

It not a crutch to every positive they should be a negative u are invisible with a little predator shimmering so after a few second of been stood still the negitive action would be a low hum or distortion to the players hud like the cloak is causeing a build up of energy for been in one place to long and if the other team starts looking that should be ur que to get out u sneaked in you sneak back out if you have the right mods on and not bricked it should be fine it been more smarter |

Your explanation makes 0 sense, it's illogical, and it's a justification to make something that you don't like nerfed. No.

On one side, it makes hiding difficult for cloak scouts. On another side, a really clever scout can use this to set an even better trap. I like setting better traps, and I like keeping the scout population smart. On another side, I don't use cloaks to begin with... And there is nothing better than sneaking up on an enemy who knows you're there. |

That where u are wrong I like the cloak and scouts as I have a shotty and daul pistol setup so you are really off the mark saying I dont like the cloak I would like it to be a bit more engaging and having and to say it is illogical to me is like saying to to hard to workout how to play that bit smarter I would know how to set up a RE trap while I escape |

1: learn to type in a way that is more.... English.
2: You are taking a equipment that is meant to be stealthy, and giving it a mechanic that makes it unstealthy. That's not only counter-productive, that's just plan stupid.
Shimmer is already enough to hurt the damn thing, this would just make it useless. No.

Cloak users sure do work hard to defend it.
But he is right noise does not make sens unless the cloaked scout is de-lcloaking.
I would rather look bad and win, than look good and lose.

While moving or sneaking around there would be no nosie it just when stood in one spot for a length time but the standard advanced prototype or cloak skill would make it that you can stand in one spot longer in away its like the heat build up of a scambler rifle .. but instead of heat you would emit a low hum |

Yeah I saw.. it would bring a new dynamic it be like
Enemy hears the humming " I'll look behind this box" BOOM just walked in to a remote explosive trap
Or a lone wolf hears buzzing panics and leaves while running scared BANG shotgun in the back

This is why I suggested that flux grenades reduce the cloak's energy to 0. It's a reasonable drop to the power of the cloak field so people can just shut up before cloaks become the next Flaylock Pistol.

again, that makes 0 sense for it to be like that. a thing does not make more noise when it is in less use. Also, again, this nerfs actual scouts. No.

That is not a good argument, as that's not the cloak's purpose; it's not meant as a offensive tool.

If that is the case then what you just said the cloak is not an offensive tool ccp should make it equip a cloak you forfit any weapons as in ur words the cloak is not offensive just be a recon ...
What I am trying to put is a new idea for a dynamic of cloaks that if you want to camp a spot cloaked after a few second there is a build up of energy which cause a humming sound just like if u shoot a scram rifle the heat builds up causing a negative effect on you ...
The sound wouldn't be a pin point sound so if u are wearing headphones you can't say oohh right he's in that corner

I hate to pull the ironic card out, but dyslexic people have an IQ that is anywhere from 20-50% lower than the average person. So the words "having to play smarter probably too much for you" is just brimming with irony.
Especially with the stupidity of your idea.

I'm taking psychology, there is no correlation between those two things. Not to get us back on topic, butGǪ
If memory serves there was supposed to be some kind of noise if you passed too close to a cloaked individual. I remember either a dev or a CPM mentioned it in the discussion on how to introduce the cloak without it being OP.
Of course in that same discussion the ability to fire while cloaked was of heated concern (Both for and against).
The most OP weapon on the Dust Battle Field:
One good logi, one rep tool, and a heavy.

People here are always quick sprouting adapt or die htfu but can't take a little idea that would take away the easy mode for them having to bit clever when scouting also it gives new comers a chance instead of running blind in to trouble taking away the easy kill
I run scouts and I sometimes think it just to easy .. I am not scared to have a bit more of a challenge .. if a scout suite is setup right you can see most enemys comeing towards you meters away
the same people just can't take a suggestion to try and help this game and as I said before its the same people that would kill the game not willing to try anything new

the instant you decloak all benefits you had against E-war fly out the window. sure you're still "invisible" for a second afterward but you have a health bar and a chevron over your head. not to mention that the decloaking effect has a sound que and turns you into a disco ball.

Ah, so all the little blue people running around is safe mode? Hardly, as a cloaked scout has a gun in his pocket, it is much easier to kill them if they are blue shimmering waifs floating around. You also hear the crunch of footsteps behind you when they are creeping up behind you ...listen... a low hum would be a nerf, as would a visible indicator on the tac net all would negate what the cloak is "supposed to do" and they are also quite visible at the moment. If you are running heavy you will never ever see them but really isn't that the idea?

Judge's video shows some of the circumstances (bright lighting) where scouts aren't just stealthy, but are completely invisible, even while sprinting. Oddly, on darker maps, cloaked scouts are easier to see when they move. Instead of defending the current over-powered state of the cloak, the cloakers should join the effort to balance the cloaks. If the community doesn't present CCP with a more balanced revision to the cloak.... well enjoy your moment in the OP sun, its likely to be followed by another heavy-handed over reaction when CCP gets around to nerfing it. You should welcome a modest nerf. |
