I don't know what to call it yet. Maybe a SFT (Super Fast Thing). I don't know, I suck with names.
Many of us (if not all of us) have seen Star Wars. Remember the speeder bikes? I'm thinking something like this. Fairly low HP, two seats (save the Assault variant, which I didn't put as much thought as into the standard variant), and the back seat person can use a light or sidearm weapon (no heavy slots, heavies are bad enough without running around on a bike with an HMG spraying everyone down like they do with LAVs). I've thought about this vehicle for a while and thought up of some militia variant stats for it:
Gestria - Caldari Variant
Max PG: 300-400 kW (still debatable) Max CPU: 225-325 gF (still debatable) Shield: 625 Armour: 400 Shield Recharge Rate: 150.00 HP/s Shield Recharge Delay: 2.00 s Shield Depleted Recharge Delay: 6.00-8.00 s Armour Repair Rate: 1.00 HP/s Movement Speed: 50 m/s Scan Profile: 125 dB Scan Precision: 45-50 dB Scan Radius: 20.00 m High Slots: 2 Low Slots: 1 Passengers: 2
Valzir - Gallente Variant
Max PG: 400-500 kW (still debatable) Max CPU: 200-300 gF (still debatable) Shield: 200 Armour: 850 Shield Recharge Rate: 80.00 HP/s Shield Recharge Delay: 5.00 s Shield Depleted Recharge Delay: 10.00-12.50 s Armour Repair Rate: 2.00 HP/s (maybe 3.00 HP/s...?) Movement Speed: 55 m/s Scan Profile: 125 dB Scan Precision: 45-50 dB Scan Radius: 20.00 m High Slots: 1 Low Slots: 2 Passengers: 2
Assault Variant (a definite work in progress)
Umbrel - Caldari Variant
Max PG: 340-425 kW Max CPU: 250-340 gF Shield: 850 Armour: 525 Shield Recharge Rate: 225.00-250.00 HP/s Shield Recharge Delay: 1.00-2.00 s Shield Depleted Recharge Delay: 4.00-6.00 s Armour Repair Rate: 2.00 HP/s Movement Speed: 40 m/s Scan Profile: 125 dB Scan Precision: 45-50 dB Scan Radius: 20.00 m High Slots: 1 Low Slots: 1 Vehicle Small Turret: 1 Passengers: 1
Erthyrsi - Gallente Variant
Max PG: 460-520 kW Max CPU: 240-325 gF Shield: 280 Armour: 1,250 Shield Recharge Rate: 80.00 HP/s Shield Recharge Delay: 5.00 s Shield Depleted Recharge Delay: 10.00-12.50 s Armour Repair Rate: 3.00 HP/s Movement Speed: 45 m/s Scan Profile: 125 dB Scan Precision: 45-50 dB Scan Radius: 20.00 m High Slots: 1 Low Slots: 1 Vehicle Small Turret: 1 Passengers: 1
Description: The Super Fast Thing (SFT) is a highly maneuverable, extremely agile ground unit vehicle capable of reaching speeds greater than that of traditional battlefield vehicles. Using a combination of the latest technology in high-powered engines and passive torque monitoring systems, the SFT is the perfect vehicle for moving through the battlefield at speeds almost never reached before by the average ground vehicle.
What it's good at: - A perfect vehicle for a scout or hacker to quickly move from objective to objective. - With an ally on the back seat of the vehicle equipped with a swarm launcher or plasma cannon, the SFT can become a formidable attack vehicle against LAVs and HAVs, moving faster than both and being able to provide strategical hit-and-run tactics against vehicles for other, more suitable vehicles to take over the fight after the SFT has softened the target. Downsides: - Very low health. A single effective swarm launcher could likely fully disable the vehicle. - Both the driver and passenger (or just driver on the Assault variant) are highly exposed to all small arms and artillery fire, making them an easy target. - The speed can become very uncontrollable at times, making accidents in tight spaces rather frequent with untrained drivers.
Please give constructive criticism on each vehicle you like and don't like, and how you think it could be made more suitable and balanced. Completely negative comments will be ignored.

Godin Thekiller wrote:Again, the Speeder already exists........
EDIT: Why in the hell would it have as much fitting as a HAV?
If the Speeder already exists, show me where I can buy them.
It does not have as much fitting as an HAV. It has less than an LAV. The Assault variant has similar stats to an LAV, but still less in CPU, PG, and eHP.

as far as CPU goes, it's pretty damn close.

Sica CPU: 761 Soma CPU: 428
I'm sorry, "pretty damn close?" Think before you speak. I know this is a forum, but you still need some cognitive ability. Especially around me.

a brackers wrote:U shouldnt let anyone with any gun fire from the passenger seat. Itll just mean that person has a smaller hit box and can move at ridicous speeds. Ull end up with 2 heavies, one driving and one firing a rail rifle from the back. Also that much fitting you can easily give it well over 1500 of shield ob caldari one meaning more than 1 voley of proto swarms for a mlt fitted speeder which can out run them
The numbers are prototype. They're not to be considered what would actually be implemented and should merely be used for reference. Also, a basic heavy shield extender takes 172 CPU without optimization skills. This would make the vehicle be able to hold pretty much nothing else on it, save maybe a scanner. And I will admit that a heavy-light weapon combo could be used with it, however, the vehicle would need to be stopped or moving very slowly for accurate fire to be given. Even considering both players have prototype heavy suits on, AV grenades/flux grenades and an HMG could dispatch the vehicle rather quickly. Or we could stop the heavy-light weapon combo just by making heavy suits not be able to take light weapons... but that's a whole new story.

Finn Colman wrote:Is this a wheeled vehicle? If so the design would have to be pretty ridiculous to hold a heavy dropsuit up. The wheels would have to be set pretty wide to keep it from laying down whenever it turns with a heavy on-board. If it hovers, well, it'd be a little silly to begin with (at least I think so), aside from being a little bit of a Star Wars rip-off.
I'm not really sure how it would look... as I've said, I've only thought up stats and some ideas, as it's all very primitive. But you would think that this far in the future, technology would be able to create something. I mean, we make tanks that go 70 mp/h with modules. Surely we're capable of something that can hold heavy suits up.
