I saw this post in another thread

My suggestion is to rework boosters. They should work on sp boosted not for a set amount of time. This would stop the problem I talked about before and would also let people use a booster at its full potential even if they dont have time to grind.
The cheapest one should work on a little part of the cap. It would be able to Boost 100k sp. The others should affect more sp. (numbers are just an example)
What do you guys think?

I think the reason ppl are switching off is the CLOAK duration is waay too long meaning unskilled scouts get easy kills. |

So only booster works when you have full cap?
So take a 3day booster, you put it on when the cap has reset for the week then when you play its working but when you log off it stops working? so in 15hrs you may cap out for example and that means you have 2days and 9hrs left |

player count is low due to a couple of reasons,
1) our player base isn't growing, the game is extremely difficult for a new person 2) the game is an extremely long grind every single week that after capping most players just shut it off 3) after getting the sp cap there really is no point in playing since the sp gains are extremely low. Unless you are pcing constantly, you really make no progress for playing after your cap.

The WORST most inconsistent hit detection I have ever seen in a First Person Shooter game.
Getting stuck on terrain still after 2 years..
Collision mechanics are terrible.
Physics are terrible, (Just look at LAV's)
You know the basics that make up a First Person Shooter game are BROKEN AS FUK.
They got a cool persistent skill system? and some neat concepts? But as far as DUST being a game that actually works even half way consistently?
This games Core mechanics Need 6 months of developer attention solid.
But no lets just add more ****! that will make it better!!! Except it doesn't....

As for matches thats not good since most matches are **** where you get a crap SP payout and some matches you can get double, thats a lottery idea |

Its a lottery half the time with the matches i get given
If im put against entire teams of protostompers then i know my team of fresh out the academy will get hammered back to the redline in the 1st 5mins so getting WP is restricted
Likewise if we proto stomp and the enemy stop attacking WP is also reduced
It relys too much on getting a good game from the enemy where its 50/50 and it can go back and forth and anyone can win and with no matchmaking this rarely happens
You either stomp or get stomped |

@Bethhy both core game play and content are important. I'd say about equally so. If the core mechanics were perfect right now I would still be bored with this lobby shooter with its same maps. But you're right about core mechanics too. We just got new stuff, but all the broken things in thus game make it hard to enjoy new content too

Boosters are not the problem there, the broken weekly cap system is.
As far as boosting X amount of SP, I do not think that would work very well at all. Part of the fun of boosters is getting as much SP as you can in the alotted time for the people that do not always use them or saving as much money as you can by capping out in the shortest booster possible.

We have seen first person shooter games thrive for 10 years plus with no new content added, and have a very simple game when compared directly to DUST.
But they have some of the most solid Core game mechanics in the industry.
Having a solid core gaming experience will trump any amount of "Stuff"
Having massively inconsistent game performance for over 2 years has Hurt DUST more then anything.
DUST is boring right now because the sense of "Improving" each day or even hour of play with DUST 514 is gone. DUST had a magical spark that made even veteran's feel as if they where improving their personal ability with each time they played. That is gone. We are stuck with a Dumbed down easy version of DUST right now, and after a certain amount of game progression the feeling of getting any better is all but gone... And we get the DUST of today.. with more stuff then beta but twice as boring.
I could play chromosome right now without any skill points or ISK and enjoy DUST 1000 times more then i could enjoy DUST of today... It was a beta and had more Consistency in Core Game Mechanics.
