Hello CCP,
I would like to report a bug I've been coming across since pretty much I started playing in MPT.
Fairly often, in fact more often than not, I keep finding myself being thrown into matches against preformed teams of prototype-fit corporate squads, with my squad always consisting no two people in the same corp, nobody with mics or decent gear or skill, nothing. More often than not, I score at the top of my team whereas the other team has people with 2-3x my own score.
I feel that if this is not a bug, if this is not an issue with the matchmaking system and, instead of matching preformed squads and protostompers against similarly-skilled/geared/squaded teams instead of throwing them in with casual pub match queuers such as myself, then this has to be a feature or is "working as intended", in which I cannot help but ask the following question:
How do you expect to retain customers, players, and interest in the game if you will not fix ***THE*** most fundamental flaw in the game?
Up til now, I've kept my mouth shut. I've been dealing with it, adapting, finding new tactics to overcome these hellacious challenges, but no more. I am sick of nearly every single match I go in, every single time I log in, (There is 100% zero hyperbole in this post), I am getting matched up against the likes of LATINO KILLERS CORP, Subdreddit, Fatal Absolution, NYAN SAIN, KILL-EM-QUICK, and more. I am sick of being protostomped by organized teams. Even when forming my own team, I am sick of being matched against people who play this game more, have more ISK to throw at us, and who exploit in-game mechanics to call down a half dozen or more orbitals a match.
This game is broken, at it's core, which is it's matchmaking ability. It is not difficult to assign an invisible integer value to different tiers of gear and match players with similar scores and match history.
This will be have a two-part postive effect:
1. Like-geared players with high-level gear will experience an ISK battle that is tense and standoff-ish; 2. Like-geared players with low-level gear will experience fun, fast-paced matches with reckless abandon
Furthermore, similar rules need to be put in place where vehicles are concerned.
Players with a history of using tanks and racking up 30+ kills in a match should be put in higher-tiered matchmaking brackets, as it's no fair to new players, inexperienced players and low income/SP players if every match they go into has a prototype-fit tank waiting for them.
This is not the wild space of New Eden yet, this is a first person shooter with barely anything else going for it. Introduce some goddamn regulation to matchmaking or I guarantee nobody will want to play this game anymore.
Seriously. |
