When 1.8 first hit I came across 2 proto Cal Assaults and my CR did pretty much nothing to them and they decimated our team. From what I gather most here are either armour tanked or duel tanked, which is exactly what the CR is designed to take out, so isn't it working as intended? The main foe of the Min is the Amarr which have both fair shields and armour, so they need a weapon that's not brilliant vs shields but still able to break them with sustained fire. Remember the CR took the greatest % nerf when the rifle damage was reduced for TTK. When I run my adv min assault with roughly 300 shields and 250 armour I see that CR's aren't doing anywhere near as well vs my shields as pre 1.8. The range isn't that brilliant either. Its kinda average. I think the map designs do tend to favour the sort of ranges the CR works well in though so again gives the impression of it having greater power. Outside of its effective range you may as well throw harsh language at the enemy. Also are you sure its just the CR or a combination of the run glitch as well as its RoF? Personally I don't care. I only use it for my logi cus of system requirements and my assault cus of the bonus. At close range I find an SMG is better The whole "You must be armor tanked." argument would work if Projectile weapons did less than 95% damage to Shields. In reality Shield tanking barely protects you from projectile weapons, and as you said, neither does dual tanking. Speed tanking doesn't either, because of the slowdown effect. So, what exactly are you supposed to do to protect yourself from Projectile weapons?
Sure, shields are the most efficient to protect yourself from them, but in reality, Armor Tanking has enough HP to actually last longer against them than shields tanks do.
The "You must be X tanked." arguement works with Energy Weapons, and that's about it. In fact, it works the least with Projectile Weapons, due to their damage profile. This argument applies to any other weapon more than projectiles...

Nothing against you personally and it sucks your controller took a dive, but I for one am hoping they take KB/M completely out of the game and make it controller only. Level playing field for all. This +1

Came back to Dust from a break and what did I find?
Cloakies with absolute invisibility which works in all situations.=(

Precisely, though the weapon itself is not to blame for this. The projectile damage profile is broken, its only the fact we have the 4 rifles that make it obvious.
Don't forget the SMG, HMG and sometime in the future the Prescision Rifle share this profile. It's the only profile that takes less in penalties then it gives in buffs. Because of this at Prof 5 it has the highest average damage potential of any rifle. Projectile profiles need to be changed to match explosives +20% to armour -20% to Shields. This will balance CRs and to lesser degree buff Caldari heavies in HMG v HMG combat.

People like this are missing the point about a Keyboard and Mouse 3rd party Emulator in DUST 514.
No matter what Platform DUST 514 is hosted on.. It is part of the New Eden Galaxy.. And by extension EVE online. CCP knew people from EVE online would want to play DUST... and generally PC players would like to play DUST 514.
And for a PC player, or an EVE player... Going out and spending 60 bux on a Keyboard and Mouse Emulator isn't much expense at all.
The problem with this is if you take that 3rd party Emulator and Use it with a game like CoD or Battlefield or even DUST 514(Now).. You now have a mouse with Aim assist... What people in the PC world refer to as Aim Hacks. CCP knew this when developing DUST 514. They knew New Eden players would go out and buy a 60 dollar piece of hardware to take advantage of the situation and gain a natural advantage.
CCP then set out to offer native Keyboard and Mouse Support for DUST 514 and then Balanced it with the DS3, By many different limitations.. So if you went out and bought a 60 dollar piece of hardware it made no difference in your control input and gameplay then just plugging the USB's into the Playstation.
The way they have COMPLETELY unbalanced the peripherals has CREATED a natural advantage in DUST 514 for anyone that goes out and buys an 3rd party Emulator to Emulate the DS3's Aim assist and Hit detection.
Fixing controls for a game is a Core Mechanic.. It needs addressing for the benefit of DUST as a whole..

Well if you look at the stats the standard has around 27 damage per shot, with 1200 RPM (when you achieve full auto) which is a ridiculous 540 DPS at standard level. Thats 200 more than any other rifle at that level.
That is where the Combat Rifle gets its power from, by limiting it to 4 bursts a second you reach the more reasonable 324. Which is on par with the others at this tier.

One more thing, since my controller packed up few weeks ago I've been using KBM and I stand no chances with people using BK and six kin version of CR plus aim assist, it melts you in a second and the player does not even have to be good, AA does it for him.. Ccp, make KBM useful please! So is this a op whining thread or a KBM thread? Did you ever stop to think about pro 5 and a damage mod or those jerks with std cr and modded ds3?
My remotes got NERFED cuz you whine like a B!+Gé¼[-]!
