at this game, and frustrated. This is the worse patch ever. The biggest waste of time trying to be a good scout trying this trying that squading with this scout joining that corp
and now its all for nothing. Now its so easy its painful. Run a shottycloak you'll pull in at least 12 kills easy. But its such a cheap tactic. Not a true scouts way. The most difficult
and high risk/high/no reward is gone. Tactics are gone. Common sense is gone. So few of it remains with so few people its stupid.
It was always stupid at some point but this is
ridiculous. I just don't know what to do.
More frustrated then bored. I cant play the way I WANT TO. I cant make the game my own. Cant enjoy myself. Its not rewarding anymore, well it never was
cause I never got to that point before **** keeps changing.

I run cloak-less and shotgun-less scout. It's pretty rewarding. Try something new and keep it interesting. Go scout-logi or something a little off the cuff like that and stick with it for a bit, see where that leaves you.

Once again: very much not doing what everyone else is doing (rocking the Std AR, actually, and LOVING it) and it's rare for me not to take top 3. The past week or so I've taken first place with a 20+/5- score more than half the time. But that's extremely anecdotal and obviously doesn't exactly apply to you. But the point is there are lots of options if the one you're used to is starting to get on your nerves. I'd look into something totally different just to change things up. Some days I'll just snipe to wipe the slate clean and it's a totally different experience. Tanking practically feels like a different game entirely. Try something new, you'll get some appreciation for it in the process and might just have a bit of fun.

I'm rather bored with this build too. Every match it's mostly all cloaked scouts and shotguns or heavies and HMG's. I didn't bother capping this week.
This game really needs it's medium suits back. Though I have a hard time coming up with any changes to mediums that will make them a more tempting choice than cloaked shotgun scouts.

I'm skilling into CalLogi and CalAssault just to change it up cause all you see is scouts or heavies when i run cal assault on my alt i actually stared at by reds and blues alike.

Take a break. I left for like two weeks to focus on athletics and academics. When I came back my feelings were far more positive about the game.

I think it's because you all kept indirectly pressuring CCP before they had time to get it done right. It may not have been intentional, but look at the evidence. I've never in the year+ I've been here seen them ask for any reported glitches, and they did that at the beginning of it all. |

My advice is to throw a week's worth of SP into assault dropships. It's a totally different game from the air.

If it's so easy and not fun then do something else. The whole point of this game and fitting mechanics is that you're modular.
Run SMG/NKs. Melee tank (which is a thing I guess). Us the Party (Plasma) cannon for laughs. Massdriver, ion pistol, flay lock, other "hard mode" weapons. Or perhaps try a different class or vehicles for a change.
The reason you're bored is because you lack imagination.

Sorry things have gotten boring for you, and truthfully 1.8 is starting to lose it's luster for me too. I hope the shot-before-decloak exploit gets fixed soon with maybe a minor tweak to the cloak, other than that, scouts are in a good place now. Assaults still need to get buffed and receive bonuses that make the assault suit worth skilling into. At the moment i'm skilling into a commando suit which should change things up a bit  .

If I abandon scouting now all of this will be for nothing, I assume that scouts have more ups and downs then any other class. But now the Meds are suffering.

I agree with Deadly, a break might be what you need. Or just play with a non-scout suit until you get your SP up so you can work on your scout suit and tailor it the way you want. You run Gal Scout right? If so then your main focus for that fit should be Electronics to 4 and maxing out your favorite weapons, as well as the light weapon/sidearm weapon operation since it lowers your CPU usage on weapons. If you use remotes a lot then get your explosives to at least 3 or 4.
As scouts we need as much reduction to our fitting cost as we can get. Gal will be CPU reduction and gaining more CPU. Minmatar will be PG reduction and trying to squeeze as much PG onto our suits.
So yeah run Assault/Logi/Heavy class for a bit till you save your SP up. Plus that might help you choose what suit you really want to play with. |

When I get really bored of my MD logi scout (and no, I dont use cloaks they are worthless) then I run MinHeavy with Creodron shotgun and 2x complex kincats :)

Same. I'm running a Commando suit or a scout with Magsec, SMG, Bolt Pistol, Flaylock and/or Ion pistols, cloaks + remote explosives. I do real well. On my commando I run combat rifles, scramblers, rails and lasers. Pretty much anything that I feel like using. I try and use everything. Keeps things fresh. Oh, and Forge guns because it's so fun to forge a sniper.... or a heavy trying to HMG you.
Also use swarms when tanks come out. Good way to farm WP, honestly. Ends up working out quite well. Tanker thinks he did well farming kills. Turns out I, probably, made as much as him that much with just sheer WP. |
