We all know how CCP is and how it has gone with DUST. We know about all the changes that are made to items/weapons/vehicles and the "balancing" done. But I'm curious. How would you set up the developmental process in terms of most important to what should be a back-burner? You can be general about it, or go into heavy detail, but I'd be interested to know in other people's views. I'm asking this from your "proposed changes" from 2.0 to 3.0.
Here's how I would do it, assuming nothing changed with 1.9 (something will) and that we started with 2.0:
2.0 ---
1) Release racial variant of weapons, vehicles and turrets, giving them generalized stats pertaining to their race whilst keeping everything in line.
2) Implement small patch of bug fixes on major bugs.
2.1 ---
1) Modify existing values on weapons/vehicle variants based on server statistics and player feedback*.
2) More bug fixes.
3) Introduce a new map.
4) Removal of Planetary Conquest.
*Not heavily based, just minor tweaks.
2.2 ---
1) Further modifications on values of existing items, dependent on numbers and what appears to be "OP", based on community feedback.
2) Reintroduce "Skirmish 1.0" with fixes and proper safety mechanisms to prevent exploits such as in closed beta.
3) Introduce new maps.
4) Small bug fixes.
2.3 ---
1) Bug fixes as per found by the community and internal testing.
2) Fixes to new Skirmish 1.0.
3) Fixed spawn points in Ambush and Ambush OMS dependent on the maps (if not already introduced in a prior patch).
2.4 ---
1) Graphical optimization for lag reduction and smoother framerate.
2) Fixes for KB/M and PSM users.
3) Introduction of initial PvE for public testing purposes.
4) Bug fixes
2.5 ---
1) Reintroduction of a fixed Planetary Conquest for public testing purposes.
2) Fixes to PvE.
3) Changes to how Battle Academy works.
4) Changes to how public matches works; players segregated based on gear used/SP accumulated for temporary fix.
2.6 ---
1) Bug fixes.
2) Modifications to weapons and vehicles as needed.
3) Possible freezing of Planetary Conquest dependent on glitches/exploiting.
2.7 ---
1) ISK and asset wipe save for officer weapons acquired.
2) Introduction of DUST to DUST player market (for public testing purposes) and personal item trading.
3) Bug fixes.
2.8 ---
1) Fixes to how Factional Warfare operates; improved connections between EvE and DUST in terms of reliance on one another.
2) Removal/freezing of PM (Player Market) dependent on exploits. ISK/asset wipes of proven exploit/glitch users.
3) Additional maps and bug fixes.
2.9 ---
1) Introduction to EvE to DUST PvE experience for public testing.
2) Fixes to PM, PC and PvE instances.
3) Map/bug fixes.
3.0 ---
1) Further polishing and fixes of all existing operations.
2) Major bug fixes.
3) Desegregated public matches (if not already done before) based on numbers and community feedback.
So, guys. That is just a general idea of what I'd do assuming all was possible. What about you?

In terms of a monthly release. Not all is possible, but I guess if you wanted to be really general about it, that works.

Very simple and easy answer: release patch notes on proposed changes before finalizing a patch, gather community feedback, make appropriate tweaks (rather than swinging the pendulum to the opposite side), then test, run QA, and ******* PROOFREAD. Finally, release patch. |

As a programmer I find it downright adorable the rather clean and straightforward undeviating plan presented in the OP given the length of it.

How Would You Run Development? 1st I'd install Electrical Shock Chairs for everyone that workz at CCP, this would be used to help wake them up 2nd I'd do some Waterboarding on EVERY Employee 3rd I would feed them only bread and water for a few months, those which fail to survive phase 1 and 2 will be replaced with new DEVs. Obviously they will always be held at gun point by a North Korean yelling at them constantly. Rinse and Repeat Until DUST is finished.
DON'T SPEND CA$H ON DUST 514
CCP WILL ONLY GIVE YOU AUR AFTER THEY REMOVE YOUR BPOs WHICH U SPENT REAL MONGé¼Y ON!

I do like things clean and straightforward. As a networking guy clean and smooth is a must (for me, mainly).

You forgot the whole reason for this game...
There needs to be a REASON for the DUST Mercenaries to be HIRED to TAKE districts in EVE. The EVE players need to be the ones creating the contracts for this.
I pointed this out here:

And in addition we need to do this to make it all happen:

I am aware. So going by this, you would dedicate 2.0-3.0 solely on fixing the base problem DUST has? If you read the OP carefully (as nobody else seems to do now-a-days because lazy turds) I mentioned "I'm asking this from your 'proposed changes' from 2.0 to 3.0". Although from that, you'd lose some playerbase because of the lack of new content (weapon/vehicle-wise), but that would change eventually as the whole travelling-market system would be in place, in effect bringing in more people.
They just need to port to the PS4 for a more whole experience, surely.
