People have talked about this plenty of times before but there is one thing I have been thinking about and perhaps you Eve sru... "pros" can your opinions about.
I am posting this in the war room because the war room loves their drama and if Eve being able to destroy transporting clones were to actually happen, PC might be in trouble... still... like always... forever...
Please read the whole thing before posting and make sure you understand it before stating your opinion.
This is what I am thinking
Example
Corp A has a very strong Eve side that has taken over the skies in Molden Heath.
Corp A has at most average players and has around 2 districts.
Corp A starts sending clones to attack weaker corps or same level corps. They can keep sending clones until they take the district.
Due to clones being transported by Eve, no one can get clones to attack any district corp A has because of their strong Eve side that destroys anyone clones that come their way.
So... won't corp A be safe 24/7 and not have to worry about losing anything at all?
Let's continue
Corp B is very strong and can beat most corps or go toe to toe with other strong corps.
Corp B has at most a weak Eve side
Corp B can easily destroy corp A on the ground but can't even get the fight because the clones keep getting destroyed by corp A's Eve side on the way to the district.
Corp A laughs as their districts are untouchable. Then corp A sends clones to corp B's district.
Corp B destroys corp A in the fight and corp A knows that they can't win on the ground. So corp A comes up with a new plan, hire corp C.
Corp C can go toe to toe with corp B and now works with/for corp A.
Corp A sends the clones, corp B can't stop the clones on Eve due to corp A's strong Eve presence.
Corp C then rings for corp A and lose to corp B.
They try it again but this time, corp C wins the fight and the district is taken.
Still with me? No? Well to bad you sweet gorgeous babe. ... Let's see what could happen later down the road
Corp C works under corp A or joined corp A's alliance.
Corp A/C take over A LOT of land because they have the strong Eve side and corp C has a strong Dust side.
Corp A/C don't ever have to worry about timers, defenses, or low clones on a district because no one can get clones even close to them.
Speed things up and the result could lead to something like this.
One corp with a strong Eve side rules 100% and no one can even issue attacks because clones have to be transported and corp A's Eve side is too strong.
Corp A can even dump corp C after they take 100% because they don't need them anymore to take districts.
So someone like Cantrabanjoe and Faction Warfare Army, duna corp, Kalante's district, etc. could have the chance to rule 100% if they have an Eve side (names were just for an example please don't kill me for giving an example).
So... if everyone thought Cronos, EoN, and DNS are bad, lol imagine one corp having 100% without being able to even issue attacks against them.
I know I know DNS dur dur dur dur dur
Guess what cupcake, I'm just shooting spitballs here and DNS is just a group of former/still enemies working for a common goal until it is reached. Then we will probably go back to killing each other for fun.
If you think it is bad now, think about the future problems.
Funniest/worse case:
1 Dust player...
1 Dust player in his own corp in a very powerful Eve alliance.
That 1 Dust player could control 100% of Molden Heath... (hired ringers or kicked everyone out of the corp after all the fights are over and that player takes 100%)
My point is could Eve being in complete control of clone transportation make it so that everyone DNS, non DNS, anti-DNS, antianti-DNS be helpless and unable to ever even see a PC match? Won't it just completely make PC matches go away if it is just a space battle to transport clones? Everyone who is fighting DNS or in DNS or not even involved with the current events might be completely useless in the future if someone with a strong Eve side shows up.
Factors to consider
- If clones packs still exist at that stage in PC, do they have to be transported from somewhere to launch an attack? If not, then Eve transportation won't be big factor at all because people will just use clones packs only. If they have to be transported, then
- Corps that have no districts that want one... do they have to buy one or can they use a clone pack? If they can use a clone pack, how does it work for them? Transported from Amarr space or something??? or from the area where their Eve guys are???
- If Eve starts getting awesome benefits from having districts, do you think a very powerful Eve side will take interest and cause what I have typed out?
- Anyone who has actually read this far deserves a prize... too ******* bad, now get out.
I am too lazy to proof read very well and I know for a FACT that I left out some major points somewhere but... whatever. Pfff in the name of Roner "Yolo you *******"
Wrapping up, anyone else think that this could lead up to one ultimate doughnut that isn't a doughnut but actually one Dust player or corp ruling all of PC perfectly unchallenged? (If even possible on the Eve side considering that Molden Heath is nothing special to fight over from what I always hear everywhere, if true)

HowDidThatTaste wrote:This has always been a concern of mine as well .
However it was explained to me more as an attrition rate some of your clone will still get through.
With eve support you can bring 300 clones (making up number) and extra reinforcement timers for multiple attacks.
Without eve support you can still show with a 120 clones via clone pack technology. I hope corps that don't have Eve truly can launch attacks or that will suck for them.
Attrition rate?

Interesting...
I have to get going so I can't delve further into this at the moment. :/ Hm... Acorns... yes

The first one shows up and doesn't get the point.
Your right! Let the change come so I can get all my Eve buddies to come on down so I can personally own 100% of everything while you and the other hundreds wanting to fight can't do anything. * evil laugh *
^ Joke
I WANT the clones to be transported but not in a way that a single person can control 100% of Molden Heath.
I helped organized FEC <-- * sigh * and only support this current control movement because of what we are trying to do. Other than that, anything more than 5% is too much in my opinion. So don't stereotype people Ice Cube

Spartacus Dust wrote:DNS has a huge EVE side, 10 times our size so why they are worried is beyond me.
however I would like to address several issues first: -Transportation of clones via billions of isk ship is risky for an EVE pilot, even one with a strong EVE side -Billion isk ships die all the time in Molden Heath -Pirates can kill the ships -At EVE vegas a contract system was mentioned where ANY EVE PILOT could transport clones for ANYONE, so sides lacking a good EVE side could transport -If Dust opens beyond Molden Heath, DNS will leave anyway and go back to curse and just get you guys districts there. -If Dust opens beyond Molden Heath, other corps won't have to worry as much and can move to other regions to get districts to avoid that "dust corp with a dominant eve side factor"
Another factor that could change your worries is this. The attack mechanics, if clones can be deployed in an instant, and then set a 24 hour timer for the second battle, then the attackers have the advantage of surprise, even with a strong eve side it's hard to get coverage of an entire region.
I'd like to see it happen because it's what they talked about at EVE Vegas, and it's something I've been looking forward too. Currently DNS is the corp that controls all of MH, and no one can do anything about it due to clone pack size and isk inbalance. So the current scenario has already played out for the most part.
District Mechanics could also be another factor, if it cost isk to own and run a district (which would and should still produce profit just not passive income) it may be unreasonable to own a **** ton of districts.
we can talk what if's all day, but ultimately we'll have to wait for fanfest and see what's planned. The whole EVE transporting clones idea may have been scrapped altogether.
However under the current mechanics, DNS Makes passive income and have to great a advantage with a superior amount of clones, timers, and a genuinely good team. 1. Yup, everything is speculation until fanfest.
2. The current situation is different from what I described though. If you send a clone pack, boom! The attack is there and set but if you have to send clone via transport, you are not promised the fight will ever occur. Thus, wasting isk which is not good for your alliance or other groups.
3. I don't think they will open up more regions before doing something with the current system which makes me worried they will mess up... again. If they open up more regions, then clone transport wouldn't be so bad. At first glance anyways, I don't know though :/ so many things could happen and I guess the community just has to hope for the best.
4. If transportation does happen, at least there should be two options. NPC pilot or player pilot by choice per attack because some might not want the dumb AI driving their clones lol. The NPC is something that can help those who don't have Eve support though. Plus if a player flys it, then things can get interesting...

So don't stereotype people Ice Cube Getting left in the dust and deciding to fight EON at the time isn't really that much of a high point. And after enough of you're corp mates/alliance mates act the way they do it no longer stands as a stereotype, but just a fact of the general attitude carried there, and we both know it. I didn't see much of DNS talking about fixing mechanics until it personally effects them (I know kane occasionally posts about needing more clones in a pack, but he has to at least complain about something, it would have looked bad if he complained for a bunch of hotfixes and then took over the map nd stop trying to change anything, so I honestly think thats just for the sake of show), such as now when DNS starts getting owned in the sky, all of a sudden EVE carrying clones might not be such a good idea. No way I'l take it seriously when someone comes up and says me and all my dickhead friends who are out to ruin the game for all of you are here to help the community and make the game better, even if it comes from one of the least disrespectful players under their banner, you still lack the principal do relinquish that banner and destroy them, now THAT would earn respect. any1 who wanted to let DNSblack turn the entire game into his personal tournament grounds is ******* ********, and anyone who juggles his nuts along the way to help that happen out to be ashamed of themselfes 1. Mentioning the whole FEC thing was not mentioned as a "high point" but more as a I don't like massive land holders either. Thus showing that you are stereotyping me
2. If you talk to my fellow corp members the way you do to me and stereotype them the way you have been doing to me, you should expect my fellow corp members to troll you minimum. If I started stereotyping you and insulting you, I wouldn't expect nice things either lol. Most are very nice people, just like in most corps in the game but when you stereotype them, no **** they will say something or do something back to you.
3. DNS and non-DNS have been saying to fix the mechanics for a very long time, just ask Free Beers. Free Beers and others have been nagging at CCP to fix PC mechanics for forever.
4. We are doing stuff you don't know about so judging DNS based on stuff you hear/read from non-DNS members won't get you the truth, not even close.
5. DNS is getting owned in the sky? Who told you that? lol the guy who doesn't even know what Eve online is or the guy who runs rail rifles on heavy frames? Fantasy land is dangerous, beware! oooooooooooooo!!!!!
By the way, other people in this thread who are against DNS are clearly stating their concern too. Like I said before, stereotyping and thinking that it is just DNS lol. Speaking of that, I am the only DNS member here who has stated my concern. There are more anti-DNS here concerned than DNS. In other words, your judgment is wrong again in thinking that this is some mystical voodoo DNS witchcraft of fear.
6. Is this Roner? Hm... unlikely... Roner has more... "class"
Hiding your info either spells alt or coward. Which one are you?
7. Reword that last paragraph better porfavor
8. Leave my banner and destroy them? Why can't you destroy us?
Also, I joined my friends over... 7 months ago I think it was. I go where my friends go and if I were to tell them to **** off for your "cause", then I would actually be scum. Suggesting it isn't right either, Ice Cube alt
