I had Min Logi at lvl 5 in pre-1.8. The Hacking bonus, slot layout, and speed/stamina were awesome and I found the lower base HP not much of a problem after I had stacked modules. I ran two types of builds:
Medic Purpose: obviously repin and revivin teammaters - both shield and armor tanking (on Adv suit: 3 comp extenders, 2 enh armor plates, 1 regulator) - armor rep, nanite injector - either DL or active scanner
Infiltrator Purpose: hacking enemy objectives; blowing up tanks; defining new fronts with DLs (only started using REs a bit so did not get good at blowing people up with them) - hit and run shield tanking (on Adv suit: 2 comp ext, 1 enh shld recharger) - Running focused low slots (on Adv suit: 1 comp kin cat; 1 enh stamina; 1 enh armor plate) - Active scanner, DL, RE
I liked playing both styles (even though it wasn't the best suit for a medic, it still worked ok) and would like to eventually play both of them again at some point.
With the hacking bonus gone, and active scanners and drop links nerfed, only the stam regen and speed are left, so the infiltrator build would not be that good anymore, but given the armor repper bonus, I am considering respecing into Min Logi for a medic fit and replacing the active scanners with nanohives. however, given the weak base HP, and the need to have an armor rep module, is this still a viable suit for frontline medics? Is there another logi suit that would be better at it?

one more question: is it true that the WP for repairing armor is based on cycles, not HP? (and therefore the racial bonus would lower the amount of WP I would get) |

How is the hacking speed the second fastest? I thought hacking speed was the same for all suits except the min scout (assuming all suits are leveled into hacking lvl 5)

I've run my old basic medi fit with my dren logi suit in 1.8. Having to swap out one of the armor plates for a repair module hurt, but I still seemed to be doing okay. The repper range was noticably shorter, but that would go away once I leveled into min logi.

Nihilus Warwick wrote:I went from Cal Logi to Min Logi in 1.8 for the sole purpose of healing like a boss. I like it so far, rep bonuses are solid. But take my opinion with a grain of salt, my gun game is atrocious. I pretty much just run reps, revives, and hives.
my gun game is bad too. Part of the reason why I went logi before (along with SL AV) 1.8. (the other reason is that I enjoyed the support role a lot)

The Robot Devil wrote:The hacking bonus is still there and better than the other logi. http://web.ccpgamescdn.com/dust/news.control/65875/1/assaults18.png It is 1.2 compared to other logi of 1.15. The amount repped and the range may seem like it rewards less in theory but in practice it rewards more because the rep target stays alive longer and allows you to rep longer. The rep amount also lets the suit quickly rep a suit and then move along to the next target. By doing more faster you are able to make more WP, if it is a slow game then it does hurt but the suit can't be perfect in all situations. A really good team of assaults will kill the Min logi suit's profit. The range lets you hit targets farther away, again providing more WPs than normal. If you want to make WP then the Lia Dia vehicle tool is a money maker, longest range and a lower rep amount than other dual beams but just enough to keep the target up but you will lose your target more often because they do die more. If you are with two good heavies the Six Kin is the best tool, the dual beam and distance makes it better than the Core and the rep amount is much better than the Lia Dia. The speed, stamina and shield recharge make it great for front line medic roles. All you have to do is stick close to cover, be aware and find a good group to be in. Any hive under advanced is lackluster to say the least but do work good enough to matter when they are needed. I only have SP in the Min logi and I maxed it because the rep tool is how I like to play and if you are good at not dieing too much then I think it is the best logi suit out there. Post your logi matches on twitter #Logilove.
Thanks for the great info (particularly for posting the stats chart).
Interesting that they gave all logis a hacking bonus. Makes sense really. As much as I pine over my alleged lost hacking bonus, a +2 armor repair seems more attractive than 5% more hacking bonus for a medic. Still, I noticed the stamina regen was just sick since 1.8 on my dren suit and being able to sprint quickly to a body, revive, pull him back with a strong rep tool and then be able to repeat because your stamina is full must be awesome.

Its doable but requires a lot of careful thinking and placement. As a Minlogi your probably better off keeping mobile and repairing the team from a distance. To this end I actually don't recommend the Core Focused cus even with the race bonus to range your still uncomfortably close and very susceptible to grenades and splash damage. Oh and snipers will love you
My pre-1.8 medic style was usually repping as many people as possible on my team, running into the midst of a fire fight to revive people and bringing them back into cover, and getting the odd kill/kill assist with my AR if time allowed in between. Now, I did do all of this completely frontline, but on advanced suit I had three shield extenders, two enhanced armor plates, and a shield regulator. Now, I would need to switch out the shield regulator for a complex armor repairer and likely drop one if not both armor plates to basic to give me the PG for the complex armor repairer.
I sometimes repped a heavy or medium frame while they were under fire, but I rarely paired up with a heavy for an entire battle. Not sure if that is because I am too ADHD to stick with a heavy the entire time, or because I'm not in an active corp so I'm always running with random people (who generally don't have mics). |

MINA Longstrike wrote:Nocturnal Soul wrote:You still have the second fastest hacking speed in the game it's just .05 slower than the matar scout. Actuallly..... a matari scout with 3 complex mods, hacking 5 and scout 5 hacks as fast as 2.96 people. A min logi gets up to about... 2.2 or so if I remember my math on it? And the scout is faster and can do it while invisible.
My only problem with using a min scout to do infiltrating is if you use a cloak, you only have 1 eq slot. That means choosing between an active scanner, drop uplink, or REs (based on my previous infiltrator play style).
Doing an infiltrator without being able to scan to see who is in the area seems tricky to me: I relied on this tactic heavily in pre-1.8. If there were too many people camping the objective, I moved to another one. If only one person, I ambushed them with my AR and grenades. Then again, now the active scanner would not pick up a scout camping an objective so maybe not the best thing to do. Would the passive scan on the min scout be strong enough to pick up what an active scanner would pick up on a non-gallente logi? That would at least let me rule out needing an active scanner.
Part of my infiltrator role was dropping uplinks to create new front lines.
I didn't get that good at REs because I only used them on and off for a month or so before taking a break from Dust, so I could part with them, but I could see them being nice to couple with the hacking and cloaking bonuses of the min scout.
To be honest, I think the Gallente logi might be better at the infiltrator role I used to run. The active scanners would be awesome and the extra low slots would allow me to stack enough modules to bring me up to a similar speed and stamina as my old min logi fit. (haven't done the math on that yet though)
