Now lets first start with the point of Militia gear. It wasn't made for people who are broke and want to farm cash. The true point behind it was to allow mercs to "test" Suits/weapons/mods before spending SP on it.
Well, what if we could set up a game mode. Kind of like an Arena, but the twist is the only gear you can use is Militia.
Doing this would "kill 2 birds with 1 stone"... 1. Its a good "testing range" gives players the ability to try new weapons or fit without the worry of getting 2 shot by a proto bear. 2. Its a good tool to add to the "Tutorial" system (even tho there isn't one).
First, Make it so Militia gear can't be run in regular battles (ambush,Skirm, Dom). Doing this will increase the Base payout for each match. ( There was even a comment about just making pre fit suits for this but I'm not a fan seeing as the point is to teach people how to make fits)
Second, Reduce Militia gears base price by 25% (seeing as its only training gear now)
Third, Create the game mode... Then set a ladder system based on lifetime WP (0 - 50,000, 50,001 - 150,000, etc) with the first starting at 0 to 50,000 (I decided this due to the fact that i know a few people that started the game played once then quit... now they're coming back to the game 2 months later with 3 mil sp but no experience of how to play). The ladder system relaying on SP is not a dependable way to judge skill/experience .
Forth, Set pay/sp to 1/3rd of reg ambush (This will prevent people from grinding arenas to make quick isk/sp but still gives enough of a payout to run it if needed )
Also another idea giving by a fellow corp mate was: To negate the skill system in the arena. This way someone doesn't have an upper hand if they maxed their core skills. (in the case of a person with 8 mil sp fighting a person with 30 mil)
I really think that this addition (and a few others... Increased starting sp,etc) could really help our starting players decide the right role for their play style.
Any feed back is more then welcome... Id really like to get some comment from our Training corp in New Eden... you guys work with the new bloods almost everyday.
